Whoever had that plot before you god knows why they thought carpet and paving slabs would grow.View attachment 344266
Looking loads better, put the cloche up plus uncovered a load of paving slabs
Looks like you've had a cold night.Does anyone know what's wrong with this potato? View attachment 343332
That's cool, what did you manage to get done?I've had a half sized plot for a few years and the lass on the other half quit recently so I now have her bit too. It was immaculate when she took it on last autumn but she hasn't really managed to stay on top of it.
Today was the first time I've been allowed to start clearing it and I kept thinking how lucky I am it's not as overgrown as yours.
I can see soil and get a fork in the ground for a start.
It's great to see you're not getting disheartened by it.
If you put more spuds in you could try covering them with loads of cutdown grass/weeds. like a mulch
Cleared and tilled a patch big enough for a couple of dozen cima di rapa that I have in modules That's about it. It was a Saturday afternoon. No need to hurry. That's cool, what did you manage to get done?
Looks like a Roman road to me. Get some archaeologists in to dig it over.
Well some of the paving slabs look wrecked enough to have been installed in roman timesLooks like a Roman road to me. Get some archaeologists in to dig it over.
You've made some progress there. The woman who runs it just took all the horrible carpets in the pile View attachment 346645

What are they? Leaves look like potatoes!?The39thStep contadino etc - any idea what could be going on here? They look a bit better after I gave them a feed but I'm a bit worried tbh
Yeah they are. Why are the leaves yellow? What are they? Leaves look like potatoes!?
They look waterlogged and it's pretty much November. Unless you're in the southern hemisphere, they won't be growing now.Yeah they are. Why are the leaves yellow?
They're waterlogged because it was pissing down when I took the photo! I hope not. I put them in at the end of August. They look like they're struggling a bit, going to leave them and see what happensThey look waterlogged and it's pretty much November.
