Is America burning? (Black Lives Matter protests, civil unrest and riots 2020)

You know that the fasces, like the swastika, was a pre-existing symbol that was later appropriated by fascists, right?

There's plenty that's fucked up about the birth of the US, but anachronistic fascism isn't one of those things.

I'm being glib and yes I'm well aware of the history of the fasces.

The US has from the start been built as an oppressive state though, regardless of whether it can be called fascism or not. Its constitution was designed first to discriminate against the poor then its had 200 years of racism sprinkled on top.

Good video this I think, puts whats happening in a historical context, from civil war to neoliberalism, and takes it up to date with the covid crisis...with the role of policing a common thread throughout

I know it’s laughable the way he thanks his own self but boasting about using overwhelming force against crowds of his own citizens is just ducking nuts, and terrifying because it shows he’s 100% lost it into war language now and I don’t think there’s a single person who can talk to him calm him down influence his decisions, he’s created a vacuum around himself with only sycophants allowed near him.

Anyone know what's with the videos of "white people being made to kneel/kiss boots of black people" that are springing up and being spread on Twitter by dubious folk

yeh but all states are oppressive. so on that basic level you're not really differentiating it from say the lithuanian state or the fijian state. and pretty much all states discriminate against the poor by design.

that looks like it could be a cathartic experience for everyone involved

staged by who and for what purpose?

One I saw was clearly a crude attempt to discredit BLM as "anti-white". Staged by racists, the alt-right etc?

It was pretty crude - a "BLM employee" (who we never see) running up to a white woman and demanding that she kneel before him.

But there's a few floating around that are being deployed as "evidence" of Black racism or "wokeness gone mad" etc.

I was just wandering if there was any known provenance for them.

ah i see - that sounds different from that video above - a "BLM employee" off camera? laughably bizarre by the sound of things

Carthartic? vomit inducing I would say. Still, not as bad as those similar white folks with similar issue, last seen helping out by washing George Floyds name off white corporate walls. (see previous spoiler a few pages back)
