Iran v Nigeria (Group F) Monday 16th June 2014

juice_terry

Here is a man who would not take it anymore.
Will the Iranians give their fans cause to "Do the Ayatollah", how many bets have the Nigerians got on and will the keeper throw the ball into his own net more than once? Tough one to call this 2-1 either way :D

I was speaking to a Nigerian cab driver who said he was supporting England as he reckons this is the weakest Nigerian team for sometime. Having said that I fancy victor Moses to score at anytime .

Nigeria the lowest scoring qualifying side and Iran love low score draws. For some unknown reason I am rooting for Iran :hmm:

Would like to watch this one.

Probably won't.

1-0 will nick it, probably Nigeria.

well overdue some draws in this tournament and i've backed this and the usa ghana game as a draw double. having said that i thought i'd take a closer look at both teams. this may be the weakest nigeria team for a while but these are the clubs the starting eleven are from:

cska
fenerbace
almeria
lazio
chelsea
chelsea
ashdod (israel)
rizespor
chelsea
celtic
lille

and this is where the iranian team play:

charlton
persepolis (iran)
sepahan (iran)
esteghlal (iran)
fulham
al kuwait (kuwait surprisingly)
esteghlal (iran)
esteghlal (iran)
umm salal (qatar)
persepolis (iran)
sporting covilha (potugese second division)

never knowingly seen an iranian league team play in my life but i would suggest they aren't at the level of any of the clubs the nigerians play for...

I've got a whole £2 on Iran to win. Picked at random, but they do have a Charlton player so that's something.

A draw seems pretty likely though.

Iran's national anthem is very Regency.

Would be nice to see a good performance from Big Ambrose. Didnt see too many from him in the hoops.

My digital box appears to have given up, so I'm stuck watching this on my tiny, cracked laptop screen on a net connection that's struggling to keep up - indeed, I start typing and the video stops! This somehow seems appropriate given the quality of the game.

In other news, are there any decent teams whose team colours are or feature green? Nigeria, Iran, Algeria - fair to say three of the least promising teams in the tournament?

Oh, Cameroon maybe.

Four boring TV pundits get to talk shite at half time. Time for me to post some shite here instead. :)

even the boring games of this world cup (of which there aren't many) are more enjoyable than a lot of the games at the last one. some crackers coming up over the next few days so can't grumble really:cool:
