Internet archive attacked, supposedly by pro-Palestine hackers

Brainaddict

slight system overdrive
This seems like the stupidest attack ever. Successful DDOS attack and stealing of users' data, the former at least claimed by some wankers calling themselves blackmeta, who say it's for Palestine. Their logic is: Internet Archive is based in the US, and the US is a partner in the genocide. Both of those things are true, but it's even more tenuous than the logic for for the most out there stuff Just Stop Oil have ever done, and that's saying something. There's no connection between the archive and the govt, and the archive is one of the most valued resources on the internet.

It sure isn't ideal that there's only one internet archive.
THeres loads archiving different things tbf...This one had the air of reliability, scale and permanence... which makes it all the worse
I mean look at their building

I wonder how long it will take to recover? The British Library's web archive is still missing quite a lot of things from being hacked at the start of the year.

Well since they seem intent on broadcasting their war crimes on social media channels I wouldn’t be so sure.
The kind of people that would want to take down archives of their atrocities?
