Largest prison population in the world isn’t it? People banged up for years for a bit of weed.

There was so much that shocked me when I lived there. See those picturesque mountains on the horizon? They’re somebody’s. You can’t just go and walk up them, no public rights of way, no paths to even get there. Don’t swing on that tree on campus, they’ll give you a ticket. Don’t piss in those bushes, the cops stake it out on the evenings at weekends to give people tickets for doing just that. Couple of tinnies in a mate’s dorm room when you’re a few months shy of 21 years old? That’ll be a $160 fine, the hall monitor called the cops because she didn’t like your mate. Fucking oppressive living there, they know nothing of freedom.
