in praise of 'puppy love', BBC4

Respectable married lady
Taking over the same slot as the awesome The Detectorists is Puppy Love. It's a wry, affectionate and, at times, plain wrong, look at the world of puppy training and the lives of their owners. It's full of posh do gooders, people on benefits who live in caravans and a man so fat he's become housebound - and then turns every Daily Mail cliché on its head by making them deeply sympathetic, complex people. In fact, I had a little tear in my eye this week as Nana V gave her obese ex husband's bits a sponge bath whilst they sang a romantic duet :)

Watch it. Great cast, cute dogs, brilliant script.

Remember, Nana V - for all your dogging needs :D

I am loving this too! Vicki Pepperdine and Joanna Scanlon play off each other so well. And I think you're right to compare it to The Detectorists. It has the same feel about it.

BBC 4 did a great sitcom called The Walshes a short while ago, it's good that they are getting into developing quality entertainment as well educational stuff. I still miss their old theatre broadcasts though :(
