I Got Banged In The Arse By SW Trains For £32

You lot are just the armchair anarchist version of those Tory blokes who moan and moan about getting a speeding fine for doing 45 in a 30 and how it's an unreasonable tax on the average motorist.
Except armchair Clarkson types do pose a significant risk, despite their usual belief that they possess superhuman driving skills. Whilst the only risk the OP poses is to Bungles blood pressure, but you sense he walks a cardiac tightrope merely existing in this inexplicable , chaotic world.

Perhaps the train companies should institute a flat fare, to avoid all these terribly complicated and onerous conditions that most people here seem unable to grasp.

£40 for any one single journey should do it. Simples.

How about £5? That would keep everyone happy. Well maybe not those money grabbing cunts who run the train companies but everyone else.

Perhaps we can institute a pay per post for you as well? :)

It wasn't valid, because he got on a different station from they he was booked from. From the MT wesbite:

You're the one being a dick. You seem to think you can sign a contract then have the right to complain when what you agreed to is enforced. On top of that you feel you entitled to insult someone for applying rules that freely agreed to and that he is paid to enforce.

Tell me this: if you don't like the MT T&Cs why the hell did you purchase a MT ticket? There are plenty of other ticket options that are more flexible.

When did we start having to sign contracts to travel on the railways?

Re-nationalisation anyone with a simple to use and understand fares structure NOT the mess we have now Even the 120 odd railways we had pre 1923 seemed to manage fares better {Google RCH The Railway Clearing House}

It fucks me off how long it takes to buy a ticket for a fucking train. Having to join the TOC in question, more often than not you have forgotten your password so have to reset it.......Grrrrrrr!

How long it takes? It takes as long as it's always taken.

That's certainly not been my experience, particularly if you are trying to get a ticket with restricted availability, cuntchops.
How does it take "longer"? You go to the window, ask for what you want, they tell you the price, you pay, they give you the ticket. Simples.

I was talking about buying online you tool. Having to sign up with each different to to buy one of their tickets. Inputting in your address, trying to remember what password you chose 9 months ago. Did it have to have a capital letter and or a number in it? Then having to go through the rigmarole of resetting the password, going into my email box , clicking on a link, resetting the password but having to choose a new one of haven't used before. All this shit before I can get anywhere close to buying a ticket.

And how did you buy online under BR? YOU COULDN'T!!

And how do you have to "sign up with each different" one? You don't.

You tool.

Then the collection takes as long as it used to do to buy the thing.

People are being INCORRECT. About TRAINS. He's on a perpetual wobbler until this abomination is brought to a halt.
No, it's just like the people here like to pull a bunch of "complaints" out of their arse because they have a chip on their shoulders about something.

You put in your card, type in your code, then the tickets pop out. How long do you want it to take?

I think that Bungle's rose tinted views on how it all comes together does not reflect much in the real world.
I'm not seeing any "real world" here, just a bunch of stuff out of fantasy land. Apparently something takes "longer" than it did "before", even though you couldn't do it at all "before". And apparently collecting a pre-bought ticket takes ages, even though I've done it many, many times (in fact I do it a lot) and it takes seconds.

It takes 8m 24s on average if the weather conditions are favourable and 12m 32s if it is raining or after 3:30pm (Tues, Fri Sun)

Bungle is a tool or a spanner? Both would be correct.
Because I speak the truth? The rest of you are coming out with complete bollocks, that in some cases makes zero sense at all. And all because you have a bee in you bonnets about privatisation. It's pathetic.
