Southgate made a good point - maybe the Premiership isn't the best and highlest-level league after all, just the one that pays the biggest wages.

England are an average team, get over it.

I guess what has people so stunned is that England didn't play like an average team, they played like bunch of naive bottom leaguers who didn't know any better nor understand basic concepts such as watching where the opposition are.

Its not.. its end to end fast paced open play with little skill...

in other leagues its more tactical and skilful with lots of build-up play....

Our's is more fun to watch but means our national team gets undone by more skilful teams that keep possession

I do get confused when people say there aren't enough English players in the Premiership when a number of teams (most notably Brazil and Netherlands) export most of their players.

I do think the national side would benefit from at least a few players playing overseas at club level.
