I caught a cat!

If there was a caption:

"I feel the malice in my veins. My claws cut with hatred in your name."

So, erm... you're going to be putting her in a cat basket / box / crate come Monday? A feral farm cat? In a crate? To go to the vet's?

Film your workings for us :D

Dude, you're talking to the pussy whisperer. How do you think I got her home? :D

She was very calm once a blanket was over, she hasn't spat, scratched, arch her back, or anything. Kids used to play with her so she's used to people, just a bit funny about who picks her up. She went into one of those pet carriers quite happily, and just lay. I reckon she was that terrified there was no fight in her.

Pick her up and give her a cuddle.

It'll probably comfort her, or something :)
Sat on the couch next to me, pretending to close its eyes :D

I have just shown Artichoke this picture.

She burst into laughter.

I know how to check :D

I haven't checked because (s)he's still stressed and test, so tenses when you pick it up. I'll wait until she starts to relax and sprawls out then have a look. She's gone behind the curtains, as I typed this. I bet she's taking a shit.

William of Walworth nah, I've had cats, dogs, rabbits, all sorts. Don't think I have never not had a pet :)

If you look at her (this doesn't work if you have specs on) and narrow your eyes (in a relaxed way) it's the cat version of "Everything's OK and calm". Apparently if you work with big cats, don't wear specs as it looks wide-eyed with fear and you might get deaded.

Explains why it looks at me with wide eyed manic hate :(

Blinking slowly, apparently. If you close your eyes for long enough to be killed by them, then it apparently suggests to them that they might go unkilled by you for the duration of an eye-blink, too.

Don't worry about her being nervous for a while.

Of my current two, one settled straight away but the other hid terrified under the bed for a full fortnight, only darting out in the dead of night for a quick crap and some food/water before scurrying back out of sight.

Then one morning, she jumped on the back of my chair and started licking the top of my head. She's been very much my cat ever since. The tabby however is a right tart - anyone's for a tickle! :D

i'm going to have to try and work out the equivalent of a turing test so that tomorrow, we can try and establish whether it's really firky posting, or whether kitty has eaten him in the night and has taken over his computer...

She's beautiful. If you catch her asleep, have a watch of her belly; it'll move around if there are kittens in there.

Feed it tuna or something cat's like. Once you are a known source of food it won't go to far.

We adopted a kitten lost in the forest. We assume it's a farm cat.

She will only eat one specific brand of dry cat food and walks away from tuna/salmon/steak and the like.
