I caught a cat!

If it's a bang on the head that has caused it, shouldn't it be treatable with meds?

edit: should add - just saying this because it would be great if you could keep her, but obviously you can't be taking risks with your health.

Nothing in xray to indicate she's had a fractured skull so maybe she is just skatty. Bloods were fine. Bill was better than I was expecting.

Cat is going to a new home later this afternoon. I feel awful about it but thought that it is best for both of us and I took her in when the winter weather was at it's worst so I have really done her a favour.

Her life will now be an old netty with a basket in, the countryside and probably the odd feed. She'll be mostly a rabbit deterrent for the garden :D

Definitely. :)

When I had a cat rescued from a farm as a kid she still drew blood from people well into her twilight years, so I reckon you've made the right decision for your health.

What is a netty? ;)

(((rabbits)))

dunno really - i guess that cats can have forms of epilepsy which wouldn't show on an x-ray, would they?

hope kitteh likes her new home - some cats just don't want to be house cats, after all, cats did ok in the wild before they domesticated hoomans.

somewhere safe with someone to keep an eye on them is what cats protection and the like generally try to arrange for feral kittehs, so i think you've done the right thing.

when are you off to RSPCA / cats protection for a house-cat?

She's going here:

Netty = toilet

Dunno, Puddy, I'll get another cat in time. There's no rush :)

You gave her a good home for the time you could and I'm sure she'll have a wicked time where she's going / gone, it looks gorgeous.

You did the right thing for sure. x

She proper pulled on the heart strings, went into the box and curled up all cat like. I closed the lid and put her in the car - not a squeak from her.

I hate it when people ask stuff like that - immediately after an event :D

Yes, maybe, no, probably. She's only been gone a couple of hours.

One thing at a time.

tbf, if she's proper cat like, she won't give much of a fuck that you're gone, or particularly remember you in a month or four's time :D It'll be the change of territory that does her box in, if anything.

I like to flatter myself that Nigel's hooked on us, and she definitely *does* trust us. Me, at least. Not so much Artichoke.

But she seems to completely forget us if we're not around for a week or so. And she's just not bothered by Artichoke, since she took a series of days / weeks in France.

When the time comes that you decide to get another cat, I recommend getting one from one of the smaller cat rescues who foster in their own homes. They are likely to know what characteristics the cat has and make sure you are suitably matched.

A sheet of tin foil on the work surface. Cats hate a shiny sheet of tinfoil. It's something to do with the noise when you flap it so a crinkled old sheet doesn't work.

There's a vid of that earlier in the thread, it's very funny :D
