I am getting very annoyed with littering.

What A Load of Old Bollocks
In my area we have -

People in nice flash cars pull up by the side of the road, eat their nice meal and then just pop all of the rubbish on the side of the road.
We have blokes with vans rammed full of stuff, mainly house clearance items, pull up by the side of the road and just carefully unload it on the pavement, and drive off, left all in neat little piles.

I have walked past people who stroll along with a trail of dropped fast food wrappers behind them.
We have people who go shopping at sainsburys, wheel trolley home with food in, and then just leave it outside their house.
We have people with entire 3 piece suites, lamps, etc, in their front gardens.
We have people who literally use their front gardens as the bin. Open the door. Toss out into the front garden.
The poor council spend the whole day driving around cleaning up after them.

I am 34. I should be young enough to not care. I should be empathetic enough to think that these people have other more pressing matters (it is a deprived area)...

...but I just can't. To me it is one of the most grotesque crimes you can do - to destroy the environment that other people live in. I want to go up to each one of them and say "pick that up you dirty fucking cunt!" which is probably disproportionate.

There is no excuse for them, is there? or Help me be more understanding.

I've fantasied about baseball bats, lurking in dark corners waiting from some to drop, then whack!

Maybe I should move area.

My wife has this magical ability to just ignore it.

Should I be angry, or should I just ignore it?

What on earth would be a solution to stop people making areas filthy? does it correlate with deprivation or something else?

I get flytipping (and bonfires) in the park at the end of the road, mainly from landlords and their tradesmen clearing out or renovating their rental properties. Most of the time they just do it on foot in broad daylight, leaving a trail of debris from the house to the park. The council won't do shit about it (even when I've reported addresses or car reg) because some areas they just don't give a fuck about.

just reading that has made me livid :mad::mad::mad::mad:

five year stretch. 1 hour exercise a day.

it's the incredible selfishness that gets me.

i find it far easier to get my head round robbery, or car theft, or selling drugs, or fighting, or football violence, etc

but there's just something so fucking base about eating a giant kfc and slinging it out your window. it literally says "i do not give a flying fuck about anyone."

My flat is around the corner from a takeaway, people who buy food there walk down my road eating and littering  Numerous times I have taken sullen youts to task about this despicable act, and usually they sheepishly pick up their trash and bin it in one of about 30 wheelie bins they can choose from. The cunts

Great thread ;)

Maybe they want to protect the countryside from landfill waste. Bring back kitchen middens etc.

not really. but still a bit of a shit hole.

put it in the FUCKING BIN.
Where are these people getting "it" from? Do the facilitators have any responsibility? Do you think that such firms should take any responsibility for the anti-social externalities that arise from their (profitable) business model(s)?

no.

neither the council.

but they probably should get involved. but they have no moral duty to, as far as i can see.

if i buy a product from a business, i have no justification to chuck said item in anywhere but inside my own property or in a bin.

Just recently we had some *kind soul* dump over 1000 tyres in a layby in a rural backwater.

Littering of small / biodegradable items into a hedgerow base is one thing, but mounds of non-biodegradable rubbish - trade waste / household trash - really P1SSE5 me off.

Not made better by councils charging for removal of sofas etc, when the large item collections, a service which used to be free (apart from the phone call to arrange it) became payable for, the amount of dumping got bad very quickly.

Something else that doesn't help is not being able to take decent amounts of rubbish to HWC / skip farms. You turn up in anything other than a car and getting past the gate is a lottery.

I understand the need to recycle etc and reduce landfill - for trade and domestic waste - but the sticks are too big and the carrots too small ...............

yes, this has added to it in my area.

Tyres are like asbestos, they cost so much to dispose of legally it invites fly tipping, made worse because there are people about who will undercut licenced recyclers & collect tyres & asbestos at much cheaper rate then just dump them in the country. The council tip will only take about 2 tyres at a time per week from householders. If you have a quantity then a licenced tyre recycler charges around £1 per car tyre to collect & double that if on a rim.

OK, so IYO the corporations and firms involved have no responsibility for their consumers causing pollution/anti-social behaviour?

You're not persuaded by the concept of polluter pays, then?

People who leave dog shit on the streets should be forced to do 100 hours community service just cleaning the streets picking up dog shit. That'd learn em

Someone round here (Hither Green) continually lets there dog shit either outside my place or one or two doors down - been here nearly two years and still not caught them at it - I'm so angry I have visions of picking up and slinging the shit at them, bit extreme I know but been going on for too long - plus I've stood it in several times coming home from the pub!

LOL. Of course they should. But does that excuse the cunts who litter? I've seen people walk out of McDonalds and chuck their wrappers on the floor when there's been THREE bins within three yards, two of them provided by the establishment and one by the council. Why do people like you ALWAYS try to downplay the actions of fuckwits and try to put the blame on corporations, the council, the state? I suspect you're terrified of criticising anybody who may have a link, no matter how tenuous, to the working class.
