The 4, 5, 2, 3, A , C, F and R trains use the five tunnels under the East River. There also is flooding on the No. 1 line in lower Manhattan.
My mates in NY from Malaysia for a hen party, they are well battened down but I'm not sure when she'll get home again.
yeah she's posting on my fb telling me it's not all that bad - I'm not sure she's aware of how the rest of the East Coast is dealing with it.
I hope this isn't true, but Twitter is saying Coney Island area's hospital is on fire and the fire brigade are unable to get there as there's flooding surrounding it on every side.

Units are trying to respond but are reporting that streets surrounding the hospital are flooded and un-passable.
EDIT: 10:31 PM. FDNY is reporting that Coney Island Hosptial is surrounded by “three to four feet of water.”
EDIT: 10:33 PM. Reader James W is reporting that “Ocean Parkway from Ave W south as far as I can see, is flooded. There is a huge emergency response.”
EDIT: 10:41 PM. FDNY is reporting that they are unable to access Coney Island Hospital at this time. Dispatch responded with “no boats available.”

Fuck, It doesn't sound good for Coney Island. There's multiple reports of the third floor of the hospital on fire and the Fire Dept not being able to get to the building because of the flooding.
