Hurricane Sandy - "Perfect Storm"

I saw this Tornado over the Solent. It was unremarkable :(

See that tower, mid left of pic? What was its original purpose? Prize for Minnie if she can work it out :)

I"m in Manhattan at the moment. Got stuck here when pussy-ass United Airlines refused to go any further last night.

This so-called hurricane s a joke here. In South Wales we call this a summer's day...

You out there in your t-shirt, shorts, sunglasses, sandals and white socks then?

I wore a T-shirt, jeans and a light fleece jacket.

This is a joke. I'm spending over $100 per night until Wednesday for the crappiest sleaziest hotel in the world (the dreaded Hotel Carter on 43rd St., I'm sure some of you know it) because pussy United Air are afraid of getting their cockpits dented or something. A joke.

Can you claim it back on insurance or is this classed as an act of God/similar and therefore you can't claim?

Don't United got to pay for hotels if they re-route your flight?

it is indeed a shit pic but I think it's a sub escape tower (for training purposes). I too hail from those parts originally.

My wife got put up in a four star hotel in Madrid for two nights when her plane was diverted away from Heathrow two years back due to the snow. Maybe the rules are different in the US?

Are you sure there wasn't some other reason too?

This has happened to me many times over the years, and no airline ever paid for me. Yes if it's their fault, but not if it's down to the Almighty.
