How much are you bothered by the TV election debates carry on?

Do you want to see Election 2015 TV debates happen

  • Yes, but just a head to head between Cameron & Miliband

In it's own little context it's quite wrong that Cameron, an elected Government official, is saying he wouldn't do a tv debate. It's not really up to him, so he should just do as he's asked and stop his little game.

On the other hand I voted spunking cock option.

It makes no odds, if he were to refuse and the others had a debate without him it'd be killer ammo 'I'd adress this question to the prime minister, but as he isn't here' etc

they might as well have an empty pulpit there t would be so glaring. No, he might think he's so fucking eton he doesn't have to bother but he will.

They'll be a shower of aggravating, disappointing shite, nothing of any actual value will be said, and it'll be a shame if they influence the outcome of the election in any way - look how empty and irrelevant it turned out to be that Nick Clegg was better than the other two at imitating a human last time.

That said, I think the broadcasters were right not to let Cameron's sense of entitlement bully them into doing it all his way.

Personally in favour of these, the moment when Obama smacked down Romney on Benghazi was epic. It's worth it just for a fuck ups, Cameron claiming he'd met a Marine who was 40 years old with 30 years service (or something).

Totally pointless exercise, I won't be watching.

Why so? Given the terms of the game. This another facet of it. Drag them into sunlight. It hardly matters but then there are still party political broadcasts on TV. So in terms of logical consistency I say the leaders of the main parties should all appear or be damned by their absence.

Utterly pointless. It will be an hour of people talking across each other, and failing to answer the direct question. It will do fuck all, bar raising the blood pressure, induce a desire to scream at the television, and getting told to shut the fuck up by Mrs Sas. Best avoided. :D

Replace 'television' with 'electorate' and 'Mrs Sas.' with 'Nicola Sturgeon' and I think you've just perfectly encapsulated David Cameron's feelings about the whole business.

My position is that electoral televised debates are now established as part of the political process and if indeed that means that they have to be mass debates involving all interested parties so be it, however we should have an overriding mass debate about the specific mass debate that we expect outcomes from, however voluminous.

more here, as dave attempts to interact with real people...

:D

This is absolutely why he's trying to wriggle out of as much public debate as possible. He reverts to contemptuous 'calm down, dear' bully-boy type when he's rattled.

By comparison, Milliband may be awkward, ineffectual and hesitant, but never comes across as outright unpleasant. If he does manage to play the occasion(s) well, he could quite easily goad Cameron into digging himself into a great big posh hole.

Doesn't really make the whole exercise any less futile in terms of actual policies, ideology, etc. or lack thereof, of course...

How can anyone get worked up about a bunch of bullshitters making a bunch of bullshit pledges and promises, should ask them what they would spend their wages on and what revolving door job would they really like.

OK, so I'm watching. Importantly ham-head distinguishes himself from Mao Tse-tung.

Just so you know, like.
