how do i turn a teracotta pot with hole in the bottom into a mini-pond

bimble

floofy
Nice big pot, unglazed, with one small drainage hole in the bottom which I want to plug with something that will stay there and not leak to get a mini-pond type situation.

melted wax? shower-tray silicone ? some sort of epoxy?
There's even a stuff called liquid rubber which sounds really fun but i dont know if that would be a good idea.

Have googled too much and confused myself now.

I think when full to the brim it would be around 10 litres of water in there, so quite a lot of pressure, which might help or not help idk.
Any ideas?

I did the same to make a birdbath. In the end I went with a plastic bowel that fitted just inside.

I sunk an old bath into the ground for a pond a few years ago. It's more of a bog area now though but does have two lovely flowers established, The problem I've not solved is making the rim of the bath invisible. I have thought of slate /stone but that only obscures the outside.

I'd steer clear of epoxy type stuff in a garden, not too sure about cement either - would be alkaline?
