How are you finding the tournament so far ?

I'm really enjoying it actually! Most of the games i've seen have been at least fairly exciting, if not downright gripping...

Looking forward to spain getting beaten though. *muahaha*

Meanwhile UEFA yet again shows what really matters in modern football.

Racism? Nope, no problem here
Assualts on stewards? A very minor thing
Some block with sponsered grippers? BAN HIM!! Biggest fine so far as well. Well done UEFA you corrupt vile fucktards.

Fuck him - big business has far too much influence over the game already without greedy twats like Bendtner pulling shit like this.

Ok well that wasnt really the point, it was more about comparing the size of fines handed out by UEFA for very serious things like crowd trouble and racism and the much larger fine they've just dished out to protect their corporate interest.

I quite often wear my Calvin Kleins when I play Sunday league. They provide excellent support. I hope I don't get in trouble.

its seems they are making an example of him for being a cock , and fair enough tbh , greedy premiership player in massive fine scandal ? its not really that big a deal.

you know fifa are always going to come down more heavily on this type of thing, is it right? not really but its no different to any other year

but as youve added it to this thread, would you call this your low point of the tournament ? has it marred the football for you?

:)

I think your missing ther point. Fines by UEFA for racism are a joke.

Ferdinand, the Manchester United defender, wrote on Twitter: "Uefa are you for real??? £80,000 fine for Bendtner for underwear advertising.... all of the racism fines together don't even add up to that?!

I wanted that too :(

Worth watching the games tomorrow? Already knowing the results?

i wouldnt bother with the first half of spain v croatia

nor the italy game. tbh if i were you try and find the highlights somewhere

So when the 24 team tourney comes into being in 2016 I presume it'll be 6 groups of 4,top 2 from each group go through the last 16,then quarters and so on.Up to the 1992 tournie there were only 8 teams in the comp,2 groups of 4,top 2 went straight into the semis. The way it's set up atm is just about right so of course UEFA have to muck around with it

Aye, whilst it will be good for fans of nations who struggled to qualify this time around it won't be as good for the neutral as we want to see loads of Spain v Italy etc not Poland v Slovakia etc.

I bet there'll be more than a few dead rubber matches in the next Euros, one of the things Ive liked about this tournie is the fact that all the last group games had something riding on them, only Ireland had nothing to play for except to gain a little respectability.

Well as long as they keep the groups down to just four teams that will still be the case, the problem will be that the top teams will be spread across more groups so we won't be seeing games like Germany v Netherlands and Spain v Italy until the knockout stages, and that is a shame.

Unlike these Euros the last few world cups have been pretty dire quality and enjoyment wise, it'd be a great shame if the euros went the same way.

Enjoying still. The QF games have been a bit meh so far but the group stage was really good. Went into the tournament feeling more ambivalent than usual but really got into it.

Whatever England do I am happy with the way they gave carried themselves.

Roy is a great manager, give press conferences in different languages and calm as anything. Gerrard has been a good captain on and off the pitch. Couple of weaker players but on the whole it pleases me.

Weird how the group stages involved loads of tight matches, but the qfs have been three total mis-matches so far. You'd have expected the opposite.

I've been extremely impressed with Roy and how articulate he is in interviews and press conferences. I can't help but contrast it to how badly I believe Harry Redknapp would have been in the same scenarios.
