It's been a long time since I've had so many incentives to get on with works in progress, first the jubilee and now this. :-/
I have the same situation with my Dad, re-estranged for years but now quite close ,except when I asked him if he had been watching it he repliedI'm enjoying it on a number of different levels. I'd like to see Portugal doing better. But for the first time that I can remember I am watching the football with my father. We were estranged for twenty years but have become very close over the last few years so this is not just good football but also a great 'family' event. Whoever wins it will be truly memorable.
I think this is one of the reasons I still really like the euros and World Cup. The players are paid, but these competitions are really not to do with money, not in the same way as domestic leagues.I have the same situation with my Dad, re-estranged for years but now quite close ,except when I asked him if he had been watching it he replied
' no I'm done with football now , it's far too much to do with money'
Miserable sod
I just turned on the telly and there it was!How are you finding the tournament so far ?

Oh, and the advertising boards are not constantly on the move. That is something that's made Match of the Day almost unwatchable for me now.
I still don't understand. I'll just have to wait till we're drawing with someone and have the BBC commentator spoonfeed me.

I also think UEFA ranking shouldn't count. Far better to decide it on number of cards in this tournament first.

The further into the tournament he messes it up, the more he will cry.
Whilst uefa do use fair play rankings (which includes bookings etc) as the last resort,The number of bookings etc is determined largely on the whim of the referee, for example, the Spanish referee in the opening game was far more card happy than Howard Webb in the other opening group A game. At least using the coefficients means that you are basing it on a team's results.I also think UEFA ranking shouldn't count. Far better to decide it on number of cards in this tournament first.
Força Portugal!! só nós aqui, os outros não entendem!Go Portugal!
