Rider has restarted Prototype the last couple of years, just had a look through the last few releases - yes lots of typical RIder style bombs - usually a bit too hard for me tbh, but a couple caught me for sure
I remember there was quite a bit of hype around this when it was out on prerelease and speculation as to who made it (my guess its Rider himself + whatever engineer hes working with right now)

This is also really interesting - almost impossible to appreciate at home, even on headphones, but can imagine this at full blast - very minimal, super low trouser flapping sub subbass on the drop - something that would set a lot of atmosphere played out on a proper rig

I think these two particularly carry the spirit of 90s Prototype, agenda setting. Kind of boundary pushing tunes that set Rider apart in the Blue Note era

Controlled Opposition - Down The Well and Nick The Lot - Got To Move are cool too
Ive nothing but respect for Rider, and have found over the years even if he plays stuff that you might think doesnt sound right its often you that has to catch up, so worth trying again a cople more times - he's usually right

Not a big fan of the footwork meets jungle sound on the whole, usually the drums just dont do it for me, but I like this one - takes a couple of minutes for the jungle feel to kick in

catching up on all the 160bpm jungle releases from the last couple of years - finding some brilliant stuff
posting this one which is a bit deeper and different to the rest, but I think verging on masterpiece territory - serious quality and levels to the production
breakdown caught me out
curious how a dancefloor might react - would have to play it a certain way to sneak it in

This is growing on me, took a couple of plays - rough with the smooth - mixes great
V Recordings but could be Liquid V
If you like Krust (an acquired taste) this is vintage yet new
only a short clip, needs the whole track to do its thing though
this is a heavyweight stepper - needs a bassbin though (came out on Born on Road but licensed on a V comp)
