Helicopter crashes into glasgow pub

i dropped by this evening for a quick drink, it was a strange experience walking through the entrance, tunnel like and emerging in the beer garden at the new bar. Never the less it was good to go back and visit again, all be it for a short while. I didn't stay long as i found the band very loud and it was difficult to have a conversation whilst they were playing. I am looking forward to going back when i can sit down and take it in again a little whilst being able to talk.

Two year anniversary today. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives on that night.

Wow. Time flies. (Flies rather better than Glasgow police helicopters). Things like compensation and enquiries always seem to lose speed as soon as they're not headline news any more. :(

3rd anniversary today, still lots of unanswered questions including when will the Fatal Accident Inquiry start? RIP.

Odd that it hasn't, though perhaps the different legal system up there and the greater involvement of the state in the disaster are to blame for that. As a comparison, the investigation into the crash at Vauxhall - where we (or at least almost all of us) were luckier than the poor folk in Glasgow were - was all done (AAIB report and inquest) in just under three years.

More to do with the nature of the crash I think. Flying into a crane is a straightforward sequence of errors. The Glasgow crash is a mystery for a variety of reasons that we may never get answers to.

The 4th anniversary was this week. The Fatal Accident Inquiry will start early next year, however it's been decided that there us insufficient evidence for any criminal proceedings.

Better late than never I suppose.
I think there was some kind of fight to get it to happen. The Glasgow bin lorry crash was about a year later and I don't think that an inquest could be held for that as the fiscal had already sent the driver a letter saying he wasn't going to be prosecuted - before it came to light that he had deliberately lied. So I don't know if that had an impact. I know they were waiting for the AAIB report which took a couple of years.
