Havana Syndrome- how weird is this?

T & P

|-o-| (-o-) |-o-|
I’m surprised there haven’t been any posts on this, but then I only heard about it very recently.

It seems that for the past few years, US embassy staff in a number of countries around the world have become ill with a mystery illness that some experts and even the US government claim it was caused by an unknown microwave or sonic weapon.

‘Havana syndrome ’ and the mystery of the microwaves

Latest incident is at the Berlin embassy, and even Biden has said this is not psychological but real

One the one hand it seems rather far fetched, but I’m not sure I buy the theory that’s all cases are psychological and due to stress. What do Urbs make of it?

There could be a number of reason this is happening. It could be a variant of "sick building syndrome" where some odd smell triggers symptoms in a group of people. It could also be very real and the effect of energy weapons, that a number of governments, including the US, have developed.

A US company also made the prototype of such a weapon for the marine corps in 2004. The weapon, codenamed Medusa, was intended to be small enough to fit in a car, and cause a “temporarily incapacitating effect” but “with a low probability of fatality or permanent injury”.

There is no evidence that the research was taken beyond the prototype phase, and a report on that stage has been removed from a US navy website. Scientists with knowledge of the project said that ethical considerations preventing human experimentation contributed to the project being shelved – but they said such consideration had not hindered US adversaries, including Russia, and possibly China.

“The state of that science has for the most part been, if not abandoned, pretty much left fallow in the United States – but it has not been fallow elsewhere,” said James Giordano, professor of neurology and ethics at Georgetown University Medical Center.

“It became clear that some of the work that was conducted in the former Soviet Union was taken up again by Russia and its satellite proxies,” Giordano said, adding that China had also developed directed energy devices to test the structure of various materials, with technology which could be adapted to weapons. A second major wave of brain injuries among US diplomats and intelligence officers took place in China in 2018.

Giordano is restricted from giving details on which country had developed what kind of device but he said the new weapons used microwave frequencies, able to disrupt brain function without any burning sensation.

“This was important – and rather frightening – to us, because it represented a state of advancement and sophistication of these types of instruments that heretofore had not been thought to be accomplished,” he said.[

If a US adversary has succeeded in miniaturising the directed energy technology needed to inflict tissue damage from a distance, it makes such weapons a more plausible explanation for Havana Syndrome.

Some years ago I did see on a US program called 60 Minutes a demonstration of a crowd control technology that used microwaves to heat the skin of protestors. The painful feeling on the skin was so intense that no one could approach the vehicle using it without heavy protective barriers such a mattress or other method of shielding the signal. Here's the video:

The video was shot at least a decade ago, so its probable the technology has advanced since then. Welcome to dystopia.

5G is just not credible. Surely ghosts or poltergeists are more likely.

Russian microwaves are the likeliest candidate:

The thing is, what would be their ultimate objective, other than causing trouble? It would never give the Russians a serious military advantage of any kind, and if the Americans find out without doubt they are behind it, I’d expect repercussions…

Like the Moscow Signal, it may not be primarily intended to harm people but might be part of some communications interception or some other purpose.

The embassy staff will have to go back to their old jobs picking a banana. :(

Anyway, not my observation, but saw someone point this out elsewhere: "the ‘communists are using a secret radiation weapon to give the CIA hangovers’ Bill getting basically totally unanimous support while everything else is like completely gridlocked and impossible is like american politics in a nutshell".

Its probably a combination of a real phenomenon combined with case numbers that spiral beyond the real phenomenon due to heightened awareness and resulting psychological distress.

I dont think I'd file everything that spooks and 'diplomats' do as coming under 'military advantage'.

I sort of have a vague memory of some of the Greenham and Upper Hayford women claiming that they had been targeted by these sorts of technologies whilst on camp. I can't remember what sort of symptoms they were reporting and it would for obviously be very hard to evidence, but I guess that's the nature of the game.

This person claims to be "Dr Katherine Horton" and to have worked at CERN ...

Who would have thought

A foreign power trying to fuck with embassy staff is a likely scenario, though of course the microwave theory is rather far fetched. There must be easier ways, if anyone was intent on such mischief.

Are embassies connected to the local water supply network, or do they have closed systems with water delivered independently? I’m thinking Batman Begins here… ;)
