Harry Roberts has been freed

So I have a PM from Clipz but there's no message there and no Clipz here and all his threads have gone.

Someone up to mischief?

Quite simple for me - dangerous people should be helped as much as possible to realise the danger they pose and work to overcome that danger as far as possible and if they can't they should be put somewhere they can't harm others. If there was any other way i'm sure it would have been presented and everyone would have gone oh yeah, that's great - why didn't we thnk of that before?

The problem being that we don't have (and never have had) politicians with either the balls or the rehabilitating impulse to want such a rational system in place "on their watch".

I'm very certain that there were. Hyperbole on my part to Dotski last night.

Out of interest, do you think any prisoner who poses little or no risk of reoffending should not be incarcerated?

It's impossible to say without assessing each offender individually, and I can't see the Home Office spending money on that, just like they spend fuck-all on rehabilitation in general, and drug rehab and general education in particular.

The scales represent a balance of the weight of evidence for and against an accused and a just outcome of a trial.

Within the laws of the state he has served his minimum punishment.

His tariff was reported as life with a minimum recommendation of 30 years. Within the laws of the state he's served his minimum sentence plus another 18 years, you muppet.

No shit Sherlock!

I was taking issue with your statement that "Roberts has served his punishment".

The punishment was a minimum 30 years not a maximum 30 years. It therefore does not follow that he has necessarily "served his punishment", ya tool.
