Hackney Action against family's eviction: Tuesday 2nd October

AKA pseudonym

Well-Known Member
Please come to meet Hackney Housing Group at 11 am on Tuesday 2nd October at Hackney Town Hall, Mare St, Hackney Central. If it is raining we will be meeting in front of the Library, near the cafe where there is shelter.

We will be supporting one of our members who the council has told must leave her accommodation on 10th October. The council are not offering her any further help to find accommodation, and the purpose of our meeting will be to demand they change their minds. She has two children.
Our member has been unable to take her case further legally because she is unable to receive legal aid. More and more people are cut off from legal help as the rules are being made much more strict about who can access free legal advice and why. This means less people are able to challenge decisions through the courts and our members are beginning to experience this.

Anyone who could come to meet us and lend your support would be most appreciated and welcome. Please contact the group on 07931 698 438 for any more information.

Why? On what grounds?
could be a number of reasons - could be she was in temporary accommodation and has refused what the council believes to be a reasonable offer and the council has therefore discharged duty -
