This is strictly the first films, OK? If we're bringing Gremlins 2 and Ghostbusters 2 into it, the argument gets much more complicated, as Gremlins 2 is a masterpiece whilst Ghostbusters 2 is shocking.

But if it's first films only, Ghostbusters is far better.

Gremlins all the way. Bill Murray's character just comes across as sexually harrasing...
I kinda want somebody else to agree with you know, just because I feel a little sad for you being in a minority of one.

Ghostbusters edges it for me, cos it doesn't have a down-home storyline thing that makes me want to punch things and wish the 'bad guys' win, the way I get with Gremlins. Even when they're torturing Gizmo.

No contest. Its Ghostbusters by a country mile.

Now do it against Back to the future.

I want Revol and Reno to come down to this thread and apply Srz Flim Critz to these much loved, family favourites.

Get out of town, Back to the Future 2 is infinitely better than 3.
I recently re-watched two and a lot of it is actually kinda ropey (even from the POV of someone who previously had it down as possibly the best). It's all over the place and essentially tries to do a bit too much. I never hated 3 as much as everyone else seems to, I think it has quite a charm.

Although it does have Fox's 'Irish' accent :hmm:

3 is brilliant, apart from the accent

I really can't see what you were hoping to achieve with this thread, upsidedownwalrus.

At Christmas too. Shame on you.

I rewatched them both quite recently and still much prefer two...
