That's a bit of an odd one. He's aged 26, so he won't have any real transfer fee potential, and has done the rounds of the Hertfordshire clubs with spells at Royston, Ware and Cheshunt.
Indeed. He’s scored goals for them this season, but there’s too much that can change over that length of period to make that long a contract make sense. Of course there could be all kinds of break clauses and the like in there to take account of that, but not sure the standard contracts that are available allow for that?

Administration confirmed for Torquay

National League South side Torquay United have formally gone into administration.

Owner Clarke Osborne announced his intention to place the club into administration in February and the Gulls had 10 points deducted last month - no extra sanction will be applied.
It comes after a deadline for a bid for the club passed on Thursday evening.

The club will continue to play its matches with Torquay due to travel to Welling United on Saturday.

More from.K's, including a threat to ban some of their few remaining fans. Strangely it doesn't seem to be going down very well with them.

I'm so glad that's not our club. The hubris of many of their fans, even since leaving Kingsmeadow, has been staggering. Two years ago, when they moved to Tooting, some of them were spinning it as a positive move because the ground was already good enough for National South. But it was Tooting's ground! As if that club was ever likely to win promotion playing there in front of sub-300 crowds. Why would anyone support Kingstonian there but not Tooting? They'll do well not to follow Tooting and Corinthian-Casuals into the Combined Counties League within the next couple of years.

I don't know why they didn't look to secure the Kingsmeadow athletics stadium when they got pushed out of Kingsmeadow. Obviously no football supporter wants to watch matches across a running track, but (1) it's within walking distance of Kingston town centre and (2) it's not already the home of an established club. Why would anyone start watching a club other than Raynes Park at Raynes Park? Ditto Tooting, Corinthian-Casuals, Leatherhead where they've also played since vacating Kingsmeadow. Any serious semi-professional club needs a ground of its own, you're not going to flourish in the long-term squatting at someone else's ground.

One other thing. Every club Ks have shared with in the last 7 years has also been relegated. Their failure seems to be contagious.

Paul Barnes' Corinthian Casuals were relegated from the isthmian south east last night.

Quade Taylor was the captain, quite a come down for the big man.

They will likely play next season in the Wessex League Premier Division, the ninth level of the English football pyramid.

I think they're more likely to be placed in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South alongside Tooting and Croydon Athletic, although the latter still have a shot at promotion via the play-offs.

Someone used to do a spreadsheet of the potential post promotion/relegation look of the various leagues but can’t seem to find that anymore.

It'll be somewhere in the depths of the Non-league Matters forums, but I haven't looked for this year's permutations yet.

IF we ever get through to the “FA Cup Proper” again ->
TBH I expect replays to go in Qualifying Rounds soon. Already gone in Vase and Trophy and we are enduring another season of chaos as clubs try to finish their season on time. Won't be long before FA Cup replays vanish and a couple more mid-week fixtures appear in August/ September/October.

Rock, paper, scissors. Then again tried that at a fives tournament played in & the male referee couldn’t work out why everyone was bursting into fits as the two female captains keep doing “scissors”.

So gone will be the days of a lower league side hanging on for dear life for a draw to bring the tie back to their place under the lights on a week night. RIP FA cup
Do the German thing of the lower placed team in the tie being given home advantage!

How about. If the sides are drawn from the same league it’s as drawn. If not the lower league side has the choice.

It’ll never happen. But it would solve everything*.

Plenty of clubs already posting their anger at this decision which apparently was taken without consultation with clubs in EFL, National League or grassroots.

Well said, Peterborough:

Peterborough United Football Club are dismayed at the decision taken by the FA and the Premier League to change the format of the Emirates FA Cup, including the confirmation that replays will be scrapped from the first round proper.

Prior to the release of today’s statement from the FA there had been no recent communication nor consultation with EFL clubs, National League clubs or grassroots clubs who value the competition as a key source of income as well as an opportunity to create lifelong experiences for supporters. The Club believe that the decisions made appear to have placed no importance of the essence of the Emirates FA Cup, in that the competition is famed worldwide as a platform which creates moments of magic that transcend generations.

We believe the Emirates FA Cup achieves this largely down to the existing format and opportunities for David vs Goliath clashes, the promise of a replay is a large part of the dreams which are created and believed in by clubs, players, and fans alike year in year out. Simply creating a cup competition that suits the upper end of the Premier League completely goes against the historic beauty of the competition.

The Club have sought immediate consultation from the EFL and call upon both the governing body and fellow clubs to produce a coordinated response. The power of our voices together should be used to apply the correct pressure to both the FA and the Premier League to retract their decision to avoid a devastating fall out within the football pyramid. Ignoring the major proportion of clubs who these decisions will affect is an incomprehensible methodology for strategy implementation.

We as a Club would urge the FA to suspend any changes immediately until all clubs have been consulted and outcomes can be achieved that support the majority, not the minority, in terms of the competition’s participants.
