Something about the video ended up just winding me up!

Apparently that's now Location Football's second most watched long video. 70k views and rising. Their short video about Farnham's young goalkeeper Pat Nash is on 2.8m views. Hope Pat gets a cut of the revenues..

You may see Pat next season, he's way too good for Farnham. The only question is whether he goes into a development system further up (he's turned this down before) or plays for someone as first choice.

Dartford lost again, looks like the wheels have fallen off big time.

Shame.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They're in a serious battle now, fourth bottom and with Eastbourne winning to close the gap to just 1 point in third bottom, while Welling and Truro both won to move further ahead of the bottom four. I remember Dartford fans online sneering at us for not bringing a bigger away following this time last year, when we had something like 1 point from the previous 7 or 8 away games, yet their ground was two thirds empty when they were in second place. They're now down to around 800 for home games (including away supporters) as their fickle fairweather fans melt away, while we're still pulling nearly 3,000 in the division they're likely to rejoin next season.

Took in Grays 2 v 0 Redbridge today. Redbridge rested a few on the bench I think for Tuesday's essex senior cup final, never looked like scoring. Drab game, Grays worth the win but...

Burger review! Grays take a bow (or rather Tilbury where they play) that chunky burger in a nice bun is a clear 2nd place on my essex non league burger league table.

Ergo a great day overall.

Winchester City are 9th in the table, our highest ever position in the pyramid, which makes it all the more remarkable that today was our first home win on a Saturday this season.

Much joy at a 4-0 stuffing of Poole Town.

The only concerning factor is if Dartgammonscum get relegated we possibly have to suffer them again!

Another incentive to qualify for the play-offs and win them! We could potentially have Dartford, Eastbourne and Havant all relegated to the Isthmian League with relatively big budgets (plus Dover) which would make it very tough next season if they all get their recruitment right. I'm guessing Havant may end up in the Southern League, although they've been in the Isthmian before.

The board at Dartford are more focussed on sending passive aggressive WhatsApps to people (like me) who were vocal when they appointed Pennock the other week.

Other vocal voices included 2 club legends and a member of staff liking a load of tweets about it.

Doubt they got messages though 😉

As someone who grew up watching them regularly thanks to family having had a great grandparent follow the club for 5/6 decades there's a number of issues at the club and they don't seem to think there is. They'll get relegated and be stuck in step 3 for a long long time I imagine.

Colchester 0-0 Redbridge (Redbridge won 5-4 on pens), Essex Senior Cup final. One of the funnest 0-0s I'll ever see, Redbridge were under the cosh for most of the 2nd half and lucky to keep it level, and should have scored deep in injury time to win but it didn't matter.

Burger - middle of the road, decent enough but nothing special.

Oh how I detest Colchester. Them losing cheers the soul.

Barring any skeletons jumping out of the Hornchurch closet they could be crowned Champions over the Easter weekend with a single victory either against Wingate & Finchley on Saturday or, if they slip up there, at Canvey Island on Monday. Only Chatham can overtake their points total now with Horsham potentially able to match the Urchins’ points tally but with a massively inferior goal difference.

Not fancying the crush of Hamlet or the six hour round trip for Peckham, I thought I'd check out Raynes Park Vale vs Hanworth Villa which turned out to be a very physical 0-0, the highlight of which was one of the visiting players dramatically feigning an injury to the great amusement of onlookers.

Nice DIY kind of ground with signs of investment with a smart new snack bar and toilet block being built. Nice clubhouse too.

3G or real?

The Gallagher family.are heavily involved down there, both on and off pitch. They were a very good step five side last season and may go up again this season. They have done a good job in growing their crowds in recent seasons.

I planned to ask this in the DHFC thread, but after latest results I better do over here: Where can I find the scheduled dates of the Isthmian League play offs? I guess the first round is on Star Wars Day, but is there a plan for the final, yet? Could there be any non league matches on 11th of May?

They will be wrapped up by then.

Some Step 7 matches will be played that weekend due to the wet winter, so they have got permission to extend the leagues by at least a week. Peckham Town's last match is currently on May Day (6 May) but need to fit in another now due to Monday's postponement. The Middlesex League has matches scheduled right up to 25 May. Stonewall have a cup final at Uxbridge FC on 11 May.

It's cricket season too, so you can get to the Oval and watch Surrey from 10-13 May vs Warwickshire, and I can get you in with a free ticket (members get eight a year).

That was exact the kind of answer, I was looking for - thank you! I'll think about it and come back to you!

Here's some pics from my trip to Raynes Park Vale:

all to nah do you know the dates of the promotion play-offs for the Oberliga?
The play-off from the Oberliga to the Regionalliga or the play-offs from the Landesliga to the Oberliga? In the former case there are three dates in the league's schedule:
  • Sunday, May 26th
  • Wednesday, May 29th
  • Saturday, June 1st
It will be a group of three (Werder Bremen II, Altona 93 and Todesfelde or Eichede) and each team will play one match at home and one away. Two of the three teams will get promoted (if I got that right).

Potters Bar signing a player to a two year contract seems very sensible.

That's a bit of an odd one. He's aged 26, so he won't have any real transfer fee potential, and has done the rounds of the Hertfordshire clubs with spells at Royston, Ware and Cheshunt.
