General Dulwich Hamlet chat

Has anyone seen what the prices will be after the early bird period? The question has been asked on Twitter to the club a couple of times, but hasn’t been responded to. Feels weird to offer a discount when you’ve got no way of working out how much of a discount it is?
If any further details were given on Twitter I've overlooked it, but I've just had a round robin club email giving the full prices as £10 extra for adults (£192) and £5 extra for concessions.

Sad news. Just been told that Pauline Powell, who was the club’s kit manager and so much more a decade ago, has passed away. Along with her kit manager role Pauline was like a mother to the players, pampering them and providing the post match hospitality. Her knowledge of the non league game was on a par with many an official and that was passed on to her children, Ray & Donna, both actively involved in the game. To them and all those that loved her condolences. AND THE WINNERS WERE......,

Referring back to covered terrace discussions . Tonight I was at B36 Torshavn ( Faroes) v Auda ( Latvia) in the Euro Conference as away there on a break and in amongst about 1000 fans the 7 Latvias fans could be heard loud

The Fixtures are out:

First up Wingate away Aug 10. First home matches, Hendon (13th) and Whitehawk (17th).

Gutted that Whitehawk away is December 28th! Couldn't be a worse time.

We have been drawn at home to Leyton Orient in the London Senior Cup. Ties to be played week commencing 28th October
Before the season starts would be very useful - and by useful I mean critical - to have on record Hak and the Board’s view on Cups.

We know from last season’s fan forum his attitude was basically Partridge-shrug-emoji. But now he’s been told the strength of feeling in the fanbase of the desire for cup runs, having it on record at the outset as to whether he’s buying into or dismissing that is important imo.

If anyone cares about these sorts of things, these are the current odds. The bookies see Chatham, Billericay, Horsham and Dartford as the front runners. Whilst opening day opponents Wingate, ourselves, Lewes, Canvey, Hashtsg and Whitehawk are predicted to be jostling for the playoff spots.

Do we have a game on August 31?

And does anyone know when the cups start. Cheers.
We will have an FA Cup tie on that date, to be drawn tomorrow. Subsequent rounds are at fortnightly intervals on 14th September, 28th September and 12th October, so scheduled league matches on those dates will be postponed if either side is still in the Cup.

Thanks PP, bring on the Tuesday nights!
This could mean midweek away trips to Chichester, Folkestone, Lewes and Bowers & Pitsea from memory (some of which are on potential FA Trophy dates) so I'm not particularly looking to bring those on myself! (I'll probably just have to miss them if it happens.)

Ah yes, that's the flip side. I have pencilled in Chichester as one of my 'must do' away trips so it would be a shame to lose it, unless of course it was replaced by something else comparable.

There's been some questions here about revenue from online activity in non league. Farnham Town have put some TikTok data into the public realm. (Remember they are one of the most prominent non league sides on social media.)

Their TikTok account is now so busy they are being paid by the platform. The tilt point came 14 days ago. Since then, Farnham have generated £1,300 from TikTok.

Given they charge £10, that's the same as 130 adults turning up to a home league game. (Obviously you'd lose VAT on the gate take and their media department costs money, neither is £1,300 profit.) Coincidentally, 130 was a fairly typical gate when I started going to watch them.

Edited to say the club owner added. "it's taken time to build but digital is now a huge income stream."

It's never wise to get into a position where you are dependent on the tech giants for income, though.

It's very wise to run multiple income streams though. £1300 every two weeks won't cover Farnham's bills.

Better to have that income stream + sponsorship + gate money + bar money + food bar money etc. than to have social media as a cost - which is where most non-league teams probably are.

You’d hope that income is treated like a Cup run. Ie you budget for nothing and if you get some it’s a bonus.
Exactly this - payments from tech giants have a habit of dwindling away and you end up doing more to get the same cash (this is why local newspaper websites have been rendered unreadable because of the number of ads).

TikTok monies certainly aren't forecast this year as there were no prior payments. I suspect it will be next season. The club will be able to make an educated guess (forecast) with a years data. Just as you make educated guesses( forecasts) at gate income, bar income and so on.

The club owner is one of three men who sold a social media monetisation / marketing company they founded for £1.2bn whilst still in their twenties. He knows a bit about the money side of social media.

Since they took over spending over admission at Farnham has risen from £5 per person to £13 per person above ticket price, average, by careful management and planning. That , and the increasing revenue on the social media front, are parts of a plan set out in the summer of 2022 coming together. This isn't stick a film or two on socials and wing it.
