General Dulwich Hamlet chat

Is the club planning to put out a statement?
Not sure why it needs to. Dulwich Hamlet, the club, the management, the players, the fans have should by their actions that bigotry will never be tolerated. If Glinner and his ilk want to spend their time harassing transgender people then I’m sure they can live with the consequences. No Dulwich Hamlet fan (or anyone else) has tracked down Glinner to punch him in the face on the basis of this sticker. Sadly trans people have been assaulted, maybe even murdered because of the his obsession with us.

Also better not to give a bigot the oxygen of publicity/self-pity that he so clearly craves, particularly with certain elements of the national press very keen on tenuous stories of this nature.

According to the link below there are two warrants out. One for failing to adhere to the terms of a community order, that one was issued in July. A second followed in October for possession of a controlled drug.

A player with over 100 appearances but not on a contract? Bit of a slip up by Margate.

But maybe there's actually a more normal explanation, like he lives locally and needs to be closer to home or whatever.

Let's see if he plays tonight.

Some players refuse to sign a contract. Carl Asaba was probably the most notable example on recent(ish) times at Hamlet. It's a gamble as you could lose income if injured or dropped but the freedom to move appeals to some who want to move upwards or earn enough to live on if the football money goes.

Many years ago Wolves tried to sign ex Hamlet player Barry Blackman from St Alban's. He was keen to move but the club asked for a stupidly large transfer fee. Wolves walked away.

Don't forget Margate have just sacked their manager and appointed an experienced replacement in Mark Stimson, ex-Hornchurch. It may suit Stimson to offload one or two players so he can refresh a team that has just slipped into the bottom 4, or the player may feel it's a good time to make a clean break after three changes of manager in the last 18 months without making any progress.
