He's my uncle.
Yep, that’s Uncle Pete. He took mrs mx up in it once for acrobatics over the Solent. I’ve flown in something else with him years ago.Well he’s a very generous man and such an experienced pilot, it was an absolute honour to be allowed a ride in his plane.
White Waltham members day was great. Lancaster, Yak, Cap232, Swordfish and topped off with a bonus flight gifted by Pete to a mate (he’s a local and member of the airfield), that had too many beers to take the seat.
Amazing.

Just been up in this.
Barrel rolls and loops. Let me “fly” it as well.
Fucking ace.

Fuck. Off.
Watch to the end and then let your brain work out what the yellow thing above his cockpit is.
But also
Have you done the spitfire flights that run out of Headcorn aerodrome in Kent, in two seaters I think. They fly over my dads house most days. Wonderful to hear the engines. Don’t think it’s cheap and there’s a weight limit which rules me out at present. One day maybe
the one on the left looks shopped in.
Notice how you can’t hear it as it passes directly over the crowd with a thousand microphones on record? The B2 is a truly remarkable aircraft; but like the Seawolf submarines, far too costly to mass produce…The ultimate "just because you can doesn't mean you should" aircraft. Not that I wouldn't love to see one up close.
Still seem to be a lot of domestic flights from the airport I’m at - Lyon - though can’t judge exactly how far they are by train. I’m sure Paris must be less than that thoughteuchter has been so busy fighting cars today that he's apparently missed this piece of good news for the environment
France moves to ban short-haul domestic flights
MPs vote to stop flights where the journey could be made by train in under 2.5 hours.www.bbc.co.uk
I think it's a good thing, on the whole. But then I get the feeling (could be wrong though), that you would usually have a fair chance of scooping reasonably cheap rail fares in France. Domestic flights (other than flight transfers) should be completely avoidable in the UK also where the two city pairs are well linked by rail, but only if one does not have to remortgage the house to turn out at a train station at peak time without having previously bought a ticket.

St Barts, a very tricky landing.
Why? Fly the glide slope and ignore the proximity warnings. It's not hard at all. Try it in a sim.
So its a fairly empty commitment given so many exceptions? They still allow domestic flights if connecting to an international one, also if the same journey takes more than 2.5 hours they can have a flight, so Lyon to Brittany, or Bordeaux, or anywhere other than Paris really...

I’d do France again by train 100%
