Gaza under attack yet again.

This is just batshit. Every time I make a remark about Hamas I'm "questioning their legitimacy"? Now you are openly arguing that criticism of Hamas equals an attempt to deny the election results. And WHEN have I asserted Fatah or the PA's "fitness for the job"? I guarantee you I have never in my life said such a thing. Again, you're reading other peoples arguments into what I'm saying.

Thank you. In what language?

I have my own political viewpoint certainly; I don't feel I've been met with a lot of argument but if you think there are points I should have listened too but haven't then please let me know.

Since we're doing personal assessments, here's what I think about your own views. I think you've got so used to defending Hamas against accusations of illegitimacy or liberals moaning about how they use violent means etc that now you just defend them out habit, regardless of whether you should or not. And that on the basis of that perspective, whether consciously or unconsciously, you now appear to be arguing that what is right for Gazan's is to continue to support Hamas and their ineffectual methods of resistance and to wait for the inevitable genocide while lobbing the odd rocket hopelessly over the border.

And I'm disappointed, cos I've always been impressed by your contributions on other threads.

This is your standard accusation of anyone who doesn't 100% agree with your point of view.

The boy who cried wolf comes to mind.

Follow the discussion. VP attempted to seperate 'criticism of Hamas' from 'questioning Hamas's legitimacy, which is fine with me, but then used my criticisms of Hamas as evidence for my questioning of their legitimacy, and you can't have it both ways.

How would you like it? Can we discuss the efficacy of Hamas's politics without questioning their legitimacy? Or are the two inseperable, so that all criticism of Hamas must necessarily equal a denial of their legitimacy?

I also think its fair enough for me to respond to a false criticism in this way; namely the suggestion that I have spoken approvingly of Fatah or the PA when I have not done so.

@OccPalGaza: Reports say conditions agreed upon are identical to previous Egypt offer- blockade 'eased' but not lifted, core issues discussed later #Gaza

Reading the report on BBC it looks exactly the same as previous agreements, even from 2012. So see you all in a couple of years for the next assault eh?

IMMEDIATE STEPS

* Hamas and other resistance groups in Gaza agree to halt all rocket and mortar fire into Israel.

* Israel will stop all military action including air strikes and ground operations.

* Israel agrees to open more of its border crossings with Gaza to allow the easier flow of goods, including humanitarian aid and reconstruction equipment, into the coastal enclave.

* In a separate, bilateral agreement, Egypt will agree to open its 14 km (8 mile) border with Gaza at Rafah.

* The Palestinian Authority, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, is expected to take over responsibility for administering Gaza's borders from Hamas. Israel and Egypt hope it will ensure weapons, ammunition and any "dual-use" goods are prevented from flowing into Gaza.

* The Palestinian Authority will lead in coordinating the reconstruction effort in Gaza with international donors, including the European Union.

* Israel is expected to narrow the security buffer along the inside of the Gaza border, reducing it from 300 metres to 100 meters if the truce holds. The move will allow Palestinians more access to farm land close to the border.

* Israel will extend the fishing limit off Gaza's coast to six miles from three miles, with the possibility of widening it gradually if the truce holds. Ultimately, the Palestinians want to return to a full 12-mile international allowance.

The PA are parasites. Abbass did fuck all for the Palestinians in Ghazza and the West Bank. After two months after savagery, has he gone to the ICC? No, he's just fucked about trying to jerk off Kerry et al.

Zionist Politicians, Settlers Ask Netanyahu to Step down after Gaza Defeat
Local Editor

Israeli intelligence minister Yuval Steinitz called on forming a "national unity" government as Netanyahu's popularity among the Zionist settlers has waned after 50 days of military and political failure in Gaza.

Steinitz called on sacking Netanyahu's government or settling the crisis in Gaza.

Zionist polls showed a sharp declination of PM Benjamin Netanyahu's ratings due to the army's inability to stop the resistance rocketry fire onto the Israeli settlements.

Israeli experts considered that the Palestinian resistance has become more powerful and will start preparing for the upcoming war, benefiting from lifting the blockade and from the popular support in Palestine and the Islamic World.

@JohnKerry Israelis need peace and security: no terrorist attacks, no rockets, no tunnels, no sirens/scrambling to bomb shelters.

Twat.

After 51 days of Israeli aggression 2,140 killed & 11,100 injured. Over 3,000 suffering from life changing injuries.

There's certainly an air of relief from many Palestinians on twitter, & thousands have taken to the streets in victorious celebration.

Where's Israels volte face come from?

What a crazy pic:

Israel lost the war in Gaza but the struggle for justice goes on

Agree, but what would the ICC do?

Agree, but what would the ICC do?

The ICC would probably do nothing... which makes it worse for Abbass, as it makes him more impotent than the ICC. But he could have used this platform to present a coherent case against the zionist entity's murderous actions to the world and simultaneously prove himself to be a Palestinians leader. Instead he chose to listen to the Americans, Egyptians and Wahhabis (and probably Bibi himself) and do nothing.

A Palestinian friend on my FB is posting that 'Gaza has won'. She's lost a cousin so there's no way I'd want to probe her on that as can't imagine what it must be like for her. But I really cant fathom what kind of 'victory' this is for Gaza.
