Gaza under attack yet again.

Because Israel will no longer be the dominant military power, it will have a loaded gun pointing at it, that kind of pressure will mean they have no come to a resolution, the public hysteria in Israel would make that a certainty.

Look at how they react to a few fireworks fired at them.

Why do you think Israel and wants America to bomb Iran ? Its paranoid Iran is getting nukes, Israel already bombed Iran in 85.

“The US is still doing the bidding of the Zionist bankster oligarchs who are the real power behind the Western throne. And those oligarchs – or at least the hawkish among them – are still pushing for world war,” the analyst said.

Only the Iranian Ruling Class Can Save Mankind

I think Israel is a very frightened nation. That is why they are striking hard and fatally at Gaza. With what is happening in Syria and Iran they fear that the radical Islamists will form a massive coalition big enough to strike at Israel with more than a few puny home made rockets. It is fear that drives Israel to extremism; they know that their propaganda machine only works in America and Britain at the top political level in right wing circles. They know that the independent internet media are not fooled and that the word is out.The world's playground bully is frightened and dangerous.

So what was their excuse for the several decades of murderousness before ISIS existed, hmm?

The Zionist Federation of South Africa held a rally yesterday of over 10,000 people in Linksfield, Jo'burg. I went along to the counter protest, which included Johannesburg Jews, EFF and DLF types as well as a few community activists. There were sadly not 10,000 of us.

An EFF regional "commander" or whatever they call it, in full battle gear, kept getting on the megaphone and giving speeches, and getting very carried away and saying things like "We Salute You Adolf Hitler", even after a few of us tried to explain just how fucking stupid it was for a wannabe black nationalist to say such appalling things.

DLF weren't much better - didn't want any chants more political than "Don't Kill Children" over and over again.

After 1967 I guess Israel would not be motivated by fear because of their sense of self-empowerment. Over the following years they further developed their armed forces with American support, and got nuclear weapons so would be feeling secure until it seemed to them that Iran also might get a nuclear strike capability. That was their main fear until the various Arab Spring uprisings lead to the rise of militant Islamism and now they have more to fear.

Oh, brief report.

Blog articles, the state of Israel, internal Hamas politics, the role of Fatah...it's a waste of time. (Not having a dig at anyone btw). Personally I don't think one can understand the area without voiding hope.
If you have any hope for Israel, the West Bank and Gaza - and the people in them - I think you are very much mistaken. I think it is a sizeable political misjudgment to have/profess hope in this circumstance, or to protest/debate about any plans/ceasefires/road maps/border from 1968 or whenever. It has been that way for a couple of decades, at least.
There is no hope in that part of the world, no aspiration, nothing to be gained - except physically leaving it if you are an individual.

think about Radovan Karadzic (or could be anyone in the Balkans really) but this time surrounded by nukes and allowed to carry on indefinitely, im not sure its only fear, its fear mixed with arrogance and martyrdom/victimhood (similar to islamists of today actually)

WE HAVE BEEN PERSECUTED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS etc

Hmmm, it might not be the only nuclear power in the region anymore if Iran enriches to 90%, but it'll still have leverage in terms of land forces. Unfortunately for Iran, their own are still hopelessly divided between the military per se and the Republican Guards, neither of whom express much interest in helping the other, in the usual run of things (matters may differ in war).

Look at how they react to a few fireworks fired at them.

The analyst is a wingnut. "Zionist banker oligarchs" for fucks' sake!

I've seen this posted a couple of times of twitter, i'm certain this quote is bullshit, but its a sinister proposition none-the-less

cameron's thinking "it's ok, they've had enough weapons for this bash, as long as they hold off another do for six months then we can 'be doing something' which we'll relax when people don't notice"

The Greens, Lib Dems and Labour all seem to be way ahead of the Tories on this, who frankly are a disgrace (as expected). Money above morality.

Stopping the flow of arms into such a conflict seems an entirely peaceful and uncontroversial way of calming things down.

Who do you think funds and trains Hamas ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran–Palestine_relations
Hamas
Hamas is a militant and political organization currently in power in the Gaza Strip. According to Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian National Authority, "Hamas is funded by Iran. It claims it is financed by donations, but the donations are nothing like what it receives from Iran.[3][4] Iran also supplies Hamas with military weaponry.[5] Technologies provided include Fajr-5, M-75, and M-302 rockets, as well as drones.[6]

Just to make clear that "technologies provided" does NOT mean materiel (i.e. actual missiles and rockets), it means "design specs and blueprints".

How did such a large Jewish population in South Africa arise? Did they disproportionately emigrate to South Africa from Holland back in the day?
