As I understand it the agreement for both sides was to stop shooting, not to give up positions or for the IDF to stop destroying tunnels.

This was one of those increasingly common ceasefires that left one side in possession of the land they had conquered, and free to deal with tunnels that were "behind" those lines and which went into Israel. That someone managed to breach it immediately demonstrates how badly concieved it was.

Well I've grown up from my earlier swappie days and I try not to think about it as sides. Cause that often leads some sections of the left siding with reactionary organisations that engage in highly questionable actions and hold highly questionable beliefs. Backing the islamists against Russia springs to mind.
