Absolutely, and it changes nothing whether people are asking questions about what happened under user names or real names (like me). If people were making direct accusations it might - but they haven't been.

But what about someone who had known him (in passing, moving in the same circles sort of thing, no particular loyalty) for quite a few years before he was anything to do with "Liverpool" (but who also happened to like Liverpool)? I'd say the information that that person had never heard them say anything like this would be relevant. Also i have posted on this board for a long time, quite a lot of people know me in real life, so maybe for a few people my opinion counts for something. it is not like i make a habit of getting into arguments for the sake of it, or making stuff up.

Being generous, I'd say it was of very limited relevance as I don't think it makes the accusation any more or less likely to be true.

I am fully aware of this. i fully acknowledge this. If you ever understood me to say anything that disagrees, then it was a failing of my eloquence.

In that case, you'll understand why I think it's of such limited relevance. Your vehemence on this subject, and seeming refusal (with some minor couching) to entertain the possibility that the accusations might be true, based entirely on your limited personal knowledge of this guy, suggests that even if you do recognise this point, you're not happy to apply it to people you know and admire.
