Fastest lap of the M25

Not around the M25, but I and some friends did have several late night m/c blasts around the inner ring road in Coventry [pre-1985].
That was some good fun, as the local feds on sticks usually ignored us, unless someone was being especially stupid / loud.
We didn't play for hours, as that would almost guarantee official notice because of complaints.

A number of years ago PH was quite fun and you got people who really know what they are on about on there like Reg Local ( ex traffic bobby, ex police driving instructor / response and advanced driving trainer , now a civvie advanced driving and riding coach and you tube creator ) now it's just gammons beating their chests

I probably need to recalibrate my feelings as regards speed. My last steed was a 1977 Suzuki 750 with a top speed of 125mph. Probably 20-30 years ago I had a couple of run ins with Honda VFR800s which told me that I was already out of date. In one instance we were doing about 80 when a tractor appeared blocking the road. We slammed on our brakes (the VFR was two up) and I sailed past the VFR which was slowing so much faster than me it was ridiculous. Luckily I just managed to stop in time but the VFR was leagues ahead of my Suzuki where brakes were concerned.

Another time on a twisty road in north Scotland I was riding with a bunch of bikes including a VFR again and again two up. We blasted on on the road which had very grippy tarmac, I couldn't lose the VFR which remained right on my shoulder. When we stopped I looked at my rear tyre, it was as if someone had taken a wire brush to it, all scuffed. I looked at the rear tyre on the VFR and there was no wear at all.

I am sure if one compared a VFR800 to today's bikes it is probably out of date also. Do I have another bike in me? And how modern would I go?

You need false plates to at least try to avoid the police finding and prosecuting you.
Average of 160MPH round the M25 is quite likely to lead to a custodial sentence these days.

So you only need fake plates if you don't want to claim the record. They're not actually integral to the attempt.
