The beauty of the M25 from space

Have you ever noticed how the transport zones maps of London look like a big mould growth in a petri dish? I always thought that was quite telling.

Presumably less/no lighting along that stretch.

Or better cut-offs/designed lamps reducing waste directed skyward.

Or simply low cloud/localised fog: the NASA image data suggests 10% cloud cover in that shot (early evening, Feb 4th, 2003).

Not just people, like life man. Like if you put 'humanity' into a petri dish, London transport zones is what it would turn into after a couple of days, and it would be hella interesting, but at the same time you wouldn't want to touch it, ya know?
