Trumpton Rioters AFC Press Statment

Trumpton Rioters would like to thank both their fans for their support during our magnificent cup run. We have been proudly representing the lower division and showing that we are a match for any of those Champions League chasing teams. It has been a marvellus journey and we're glad that you could both come along with us on it.

Our team has performed magnificently, even if half of them were also playing for the opposition. Special thanks must go to our magnificent goalkeeper Dean kiely who's performance throughout our season has been magnificent, even if it was shite tonight. mention must also be given to the old stalwart Teddy Sheringham. Brought in as a matter of principal when Louis Saha had to be asked to leave the Rioters for conduct unbecoming, Teddy had no hesitation in joining us. So we'd like to pay special note to Teddy's complete and utter failure to turn up tonight. Thanks a fucking million you bastard.

We would like to wish Winstons Wanderers all the best in the rest of the competition, but frankly we're too pigging cheesed off at the moment to do so.

Thankyou.

Now this made me laugh. I would write an alternative... However, all blame is at my door. The only thing I had up on butch was Wright-Phillips goal, but he had several on me.

Without the managers fuckups, we'd still have lost.

Semi-Final Drawer

Even before the celebrations/commiserations are over the draw is made for the penultimate round of the greatest cup competetion in U75:
2
1
3
4
goes the draw
giving us

1 Max Holz Players v South Coast Splitters
2 Winstons Wanderers v Deportive Sorry

So the bookmakers have it down for a top of the table clash between two of the title chasers - should be jolly exciting stuff!

to be played GW 30

standings haven't changed in the league all that much for weeks.. at the top at least. don't think I can finish higher than 5th, but I'm pretty happy with that!

I think the top 5 have got pretty similiar players now - not suprising really. Got my best week so far with 81 this week - still on for the double..:)

never say never Chris, I'd resigned meself to battling it out for the third promotion spotfrom Div 2, but this weeks stupendous 82 points (with one still playing) puts me right in contention for the top spot.

halfway through the semis today.

Deportivo La Sorry 32 Winstron's Wanderers 22

But today, I've only got Henry and Vieira playing against Henry, Pires, Giggs, van nistelrooy and Shearer. He'll have caught 6 points on me, before kick-off. I'm worried ...

Right, it seems Deportivo la Sorry*go through - me and SouthCoast Splitters drew - which means belboid has to come up with some way of seperating us...

Well played Sorry

Looks like after an impressive and sometimes table-topping season were gonna end up trophyless....ah well....theres always the 50k a week and celebrity lifestyle to fall back on, footballs a hard life, aint it?

bloody hell, how many people got 62 points this week? even without substituting owen in my case!

replays 'traditionally' two weeks after the original game, so, weekend of April 9 - 11

Just I reminder, should it be necessary, that the replay of Max Holz Players v South Coast Splitters is to be held this Gameweek - starting on friday and going all the way into monday. Will having a team full of Arsenal players still work, or have they just fucked themselves in the foot....?

Only time will tell!

oh, and wasn't there going to be one more promotion/relegation before the end of the season. whilst the possibility of being division one champion is nice, i would prefer to be in the top 10 overall, ta :)

Crumbs, I forgot. I've been busy these past few weeks, so many apologies. I'll sort something out in a bit.

ButchersApron IS Arsene Wenger...

The FA have yet to tally the final scores, but I make it,

South Coast Splitters 83 Max Holz Players 69.

Gone is the chance of the double, and knocked off the top of the table to boot! And why? Because he substituted Henry!!

The key lesson of this season, whether real or fantasy, must surely be...never, ever, substitute Thierry Henry, not even if he's meant to be injured!

Congratulations to the South Coast Splitters, heading into there first ever U75 Fantasy Football Final, to meet Deportivo Sorry in what looks to be a way more interesting and tightly fought game than that FA thingumebob.

Yep, i blame that lying bastard Wenger - i would still have had a chance if he didn't rest Pires, Freddy and Bergkamp today as well - congrats to Kevv - that was a whopping score btw... :)

It's a May Day Cup Final! Well, I liked the sound of it :)

01 May 2004 12:30*Arsenal*v Birmingham*
01 May 2004 15:00*Blackburn*v Man. United*
01 May 2004 15:00 Charlton*v Leicester*
01 May 2004 15:00 Chelsea v Southampton*
01 May 2004 15:00*Man. City*v Newcastle*
01 May 2004 15:00*Portsmouth v Fulham*
01 May 2004 15:00*Wolves v Everton*
02 May 2004 14:00*Bolton v Leeds*
02 May 2004 15:00*Aston Villa*v Tottenham*
02 May 2004 16:05*Liverpool*v Middlesbrough*
04 May 2004 20:00*Portsmouth*v Arsenal*

note that both Arsenal & Portsmouth are getting two games apiece!

Any replay will be in the final week, with, if by some miracle there is a second draw, it will be played the preceeding week. Which sounded as silly as a penalty shoot-out to me.
