I had a real dilemma over whether to include French players.

At first I did, with one of them captain, then sense prevailed...

I want the French to lose, how can I include them in my team!

I'm not sure who to have as captain. Not sure if I want that French player as captain. But then again, they've got three relatively easy games in the group stages.

I'm not sure if France are my favourites at teh minute, think their defence is leaky.

This fantasy set up is flawed mind- look at the overall leaderboard - the top team is just a spanish XI. Presumably he'll change his team every day to the players playing - ie mostly French players today.

soz flim, missed that before!

dunno if there is time really - there are only 5 rounds (semi's & final count as one), so if you skipped the first round to let people work out how it's working, then any draw would completely screw up the competition.


ernie - whoever's leading is obviously stuck with a team full of spanish players until the second round of games at least, they can't change mid-match (as it were), this aint american football y'know!

He could do this, but he'd incur this:
"During the group stage, 1 transfer(s) can be made each Matchday without charge. All additional transfers made in the same Matchday will deduct 2 point(s) from your total."

Oh yeh, also what belboid just said "Matchday One" refers to all the first group games, not just the individual days

Ps. Damn the spanish for not playing Joaquin!

It's not a flaw... when teams start to drop-out, you'll need more than a few from the same team in your side.

Putting all your eggs in the Spanish basket could be a good gamble but I doubt it will bring the highest score - people with that *grrr* Zidane as captain prove that...
