Fake tans.....your best/worst ?

mentalchik

"I say we take off and nuke the site from orbit."
Not usually a big user of fake tan but am thinking of dipping my toes in......is it worth paying out ? or are budget options worth a try ?

(and yes i know this has been done before )

Do not buy Body Shop fake tan. Orange and patchy.

Clinique mousse is ace, and is tinted so you can tell where you're putting it and have some instant colour. Pongs though.

Cocoa Brown range is meant to be good (Superdrug and Primark iirc).

For best results pay someone to spray you is my honest advice though. I've only ever had Fake Bake myself - I'm extremely pale and even the 'dark' is a lovely colour on me

If you're inexperienced, I'd get one that shows up instantly rather than one that develops over time - at least at first. That way if you get patchy ankles you can just wash it off :) Agree with Rebelda though that spray tan is the best. I'm really pale too and I just look a bit healthier with one, not tangoed.

Me too. I can't use fake tan because I've got psoriasis, I might just have a few sun beds because they'll sort both.
I'm terrified of sun beds  I suspect that even if I went in/on one for a minute I'd come out with third degree burns :D

I haven't had one for years but think I only burnt once. That was on my hen do when I used a bed at a different salon which was loads stronger. I know it's really irresponsible to use them but I'm desperate for some colour and my skin is really bad. A dermatology referral will take ages.

I don't see why. You know what your limit is, and isn't it actually recommended for psoriasis?

I used to love sun beds. Laying down in all that heat, I used to drop off.

These days it's all super-powered five minute fanciness, and worse, stand up tanning. Fuck that - where's my lovely relaxing rest? Plus if you have big boobs the stand up beds are dreadful, cos you get white semi circles on your abdomen.

sun angel is laying down, 20 quid a go, but it gives you 20 mins bespoke UV output cus you sensor bits of skin beforehand and you got air con and can plug yer mp3 in and theres a mist function  it's pretty sick its at the tanning shop chains

get on it

I need to soon

Ooh - that does sound lovely. Expensive?

Had a spray tan at benefit today. Can't remember the name of the brand they use but the sprayer told me it was vegan :D I went for medium and I'm glad because I'm very dark now. Will report back after tomorrow morning's wash-off. Yay tan!

How did your spray tan go Rebelda?
Like spanglechick I used to love sunbeds, relaxing and tanning at the same time, it felt like being on a beach without getting sand in your bits.
I've only had one spray tan and it was a it of a disaster. She sprayed my face as well as my body but the tan on my face highlighted all my age spots and turned them dark brown. I looked quite strange for a day. Apparently though I could have had the tan faded out at my neck, I wished she's said that earlier
