FA could face sanctions from UEFA over Tuesday night FA Cup games...

.... because of the clash with the Champions League televised games:

In February, however, St Johnstone and Hearts could not contest a Scottish Cup replay on a Thursday because it clashed with the Europa League. Manchester City and Manchester United were playing and, under the terms of the agreements imposed by UEFA, no games could be televised in the same country as matches involving European participants. Until Alex Salmond gets his way, Scotland counts as being part of the same state and St Johnstone v Hearts was played on the Tuesday night instead.

Yet earlier this month Chelsea played their replay at Birmingham on the same night Milan were celebrating a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal. Then on Tuesday we had two domestic televised games clashing with Chelsea's trip to Lisbon.

The money received by Spurs, Bolton, Sunderland and Everton will no doubt be welcome, but one-off TV money is a bigger deal in Scotland. St Johnstone's chairman, Steve Brown, told the BBC: "Because of the financial state of the game, eighty-odd thousand for ourselves and Hearts is a considerable amount of money...It looks like we are probably going to make some form of loss, so anything at all that is going to reduce that would be embraced."

The SFA were going to raise the matter with UEFA and a spokesman for Michel Platini's mob said: "The executive committee will now examine the case at the end of the season and sanctions could be taken against them [the FA]. What these sanctions will be is impossible to say."

I bet the TV companies were behind the original decision not to have other games televised on these nights, Do you know if it is all games or just cup games?

Its apparently against UEFA rules to show any televised game that takes place at the same time as a televised European game involving teams from the same country (in this case the UK, rather than Scotland / England etc), apparently - so if Celtic were playing Benfica in the Europa League and it was on Scottish TV, the FA shouldnt allow Brighton vs Wrexham to be televised on ESPN at the same time.
