Essential Trump/Alt-Right Ridicule Thread

but where i am, the GOP doesn't field candidates in some districts, where democrats win with bolshevik margins. it may be just facing facts, it costs money to run a campaign and it may look worse (and cost precious dollars) to get crushed than not to participate.

You may be right. Many red states were once blue, and many blue states were once red. You can't build a foothold in the red state by making no effort.

That was my biggest concern about them last time and it's still the same. It's like they have simply stopped encouraging/developing several generations of potential leadership talent.

I would go so far as to suggest that Bernie Sanders has developed more Democratic talent than the Democrats. He's put substantial effort into getting younger people interested and empowered to run.

I have wondered how much of it has been due to the typical funding model for American politics? The donors/money may like to deal with the same old/known hands but beyond their role as figureheads, not developing/maintaining a grassroots operation responsive to its electorate and bringing-on new people from it, is a recipe for complete political stagnation.

This is also what MAGA and the other far-right groupings seem to have done right, although in a much less centralised way. They appear to see their independence/detachment from the mainstream Republican Party as a strength.

It is a recipe for stagnation. It's partly their funding model and partly an elder generation cemented to their own power. There's also this idea that the Democrats will win based purely on demographics. They think younger voters will sweep them into office. That won't happen if you don't allow them a space in the party and make them welcome.

This may be the only thing that saves the Republican Party. After Trump sucks them dry using them as his own personal slush fund, they'll need a base they can go back to in order to rebuild the party. In our primary on Tuesday, Nikki Haley still got 20% of vote, despite dropping out months ago. So, there is some dissatisfaction with the Trump world order.

Is there enough dissatisfaction for that 20% to vote against Trump when it comes to it?

Isn't it likely to depend on who the police and army support? You'd imagine Trumpies will be trying to organize amongst them.

He will be in a much weaker position this time though, he was still the president last time so had some actual authority.

He will and he won't have any kind of control over security of the capitol. One thing to be aware of is that Gen. Flynn is a rabid pro-Trumper, and I would question the intent behind anything he did. I think many people were afraid of which side they would be ordered to protect.

Would be interested to see polling of the military, how many of them think the 2020 election was stolen etc.

Cops will fight for Trump because they’re mostly racist cunts.

They could have got rid of sin if they'd just thought to ban verbs as well. They just don't think things through in Idaho
