He made a ridiculous comment in public, not a very wise thing to do, as he's probably finding out now. Before I join in with the lynch mob (an easy thing to do), I'd want to hear him being interviewed where he has the chance to explain what he was trying to say. Get Paxman out of retirement or summat. "Dear Mr Bristow...what the fuck were you trying to say? Explain yourself".

what i was saying was when the football lads got older and fitter they should have went back and sorted him out

Some people are just fucking stupid and he doesn't now have the right to try and wriggle out of it. It's pretty clear what he is saying.

He just did explain.

I don't really see a lynch mob. I see people angry at someone with a level of fame and a public profile saying something which can only help make people who have been abused decide they better not tell anyone, that they better keep their head down or be shamed.

There's no lynch mob; rather people are upset at such a lame, offensive argument from EB. That is allowed, surely?

It's quite easy to get across exactly what you think on a given subject in a series of tweets. And that's exactly what this vile, despicable cunt did.

The real men are those abused footballers who have found the balls to publicly come out and talk about the horrendous abuse they suffered. For men involved in the ultra-macho and generally homophobic world of professional sport, that takes real courage.

I think the p--- is poof which makes me think he thought he was getting flak only for the homophonic term and didn't have the intelligence to wind his neck in.
