Entirely unashamed anti car propaganda, and the more the better.

No I couldn’t have easily posted it, and I wanted to highlight the nature of the debate in Oxford, there’s a big involvement of anti-vaxxers in the congestion charge protests - worth highlighting I think.
Looks like you’re finally making sense. Glad to have you on board.

Bloody hell! Can’t work out how they managed the first one?

But - hey this is just the price we need to pay for drivers to have the right to do what the fuck they want.

The first one is easy, they looked to have sped around a t-junction at some speed and lost control and punted into the house.

That entire low wall in the second one has been destroyed with damage to the flat wall and I can only assume a game of car pinball happened as they floored it to reverse.

I live near a junction, in the last 10 years or so 3 cars have smashed into the building each time needing repairs to the brickwork. Meanwhile on the opposite corner a car smashed through the boundary wall and into a window and several have ended up on the pavement or bollards. There are lots more collisions that don't make it as far as the pavement. This is not even a major road, just a junction that people try and take too fast. It's supposed to be 20mph limit, but it's not enforced around here - ever. There is apparently no funding available for changes to the road design.

Just yesterday I watched someone speeding, way too fast, overtaking other cars, then approaching this junction at speed and swinging right even though a cyclist was approaching from the other direction - just cut straight in front of her. This wasn't borderline dodgy driving, it was straight up reckless driving, the type that kills people and I only wish I'd been able to film it. I saw that the car had gone into a nearby carwash place, and I went over there, with half an intention to confront the driver, but in the end I chickened out because I didn't want to end up with a broken nose.

This link was posted in a Brixton thread ... but it seems appropriate for consideration here too.

Going on for ten years old now, but the language used in this press release is quite something ... victory ... plague ... stealth ... spy cars ...

One consequence of making it a requirement for an actual human to go and get directly into confrontation with those parking illegally is that it's the aggressive drivers who are encouraged to ignore the rules.

I once did jury service on a case where a traffic warden was threatened with a kitchen knife.

It’s very odd - “a victory for shoppers and shopkeepers ….. over overzealous parking wardens”.

The tories supporting the rights of people who break the law.

( I assume the real story here was central government giving the finger to local councils enforcing parking restrictions ? )

Contrast this with recent laws against protest.

:(

That’s literally a robocop vehicle. It’s only not a Mad Max one because it’s not ramshackle enough.

What the fuck are Americans doing on the road? I thought Russian dash cams were bad

For anyone in Leeds new Commonplace about proposals to A660.

LDC Edie Kaka Tim

They just had the author of this book on radio 4, droning on about "freedom" and all the usual self centred stuff that is completely blind to the reductions in freedom that car dependence creates.

Of course, towards the end of the interview he made a few comments to suggest he's also an "anti lockdown" crank.
