Bit of a lopsided selection. one too many right backs and a bit light in midfield. I can appreciate that Southgate might want to play three at the back if Maguire is injured rather than four hence Walker and James who can play in either formation but I'm not sure the squad needs TA-A.

Croatia game could be anything depending on which Croatian team turns up .If its the 2020 form version its a tight game, if its the one that stumbled in its last games not so much.

Also not sure it’s as great as people are saying. Sterling & rashford are out of form.

With that squad their should be no excuses if England dont do well - but i fear southgates conservatism. Rashford and Stirling should make way for sancho and foden in the first team - with Grealish as super sub. Fact is England havent beaten a top side in a tournament since .... Argentina, nearly twenty years ago! Even longer in a knockout stage (spain in euro 96? - and that was on penalties).
