I liked it.:D

Shame I did the same as last year and got over-enthusiastic on the first night and had to be put to bed. Still, it sounds like I stayed up later than aqua, so that makes me feel much better! :D
Next year I might just have to give the cocktails a wide berth...

Saturday was ok, we were waterproof enough, and there are so many indoory-type places to shelter in, it was only really the main stage bits that were a bit damp. And we got to re-invent the wheel with our first ever experience of taking a stove to a festival, so sitting in the tent was a whole new experience: "OMG - tea! That's brilliant! Wow a fried egg! Fuckin genius!" etc etc.

Agree with everyone about the toilets, you could eat your dinner off those ones, and never once did they run out of bogroll. Food - there was some I think... the welsh stall was fab. Was that there last year? Just what you need after a tent-cooked veggie breakfast - a portion of bacon and lavabread.

The stalls were brilliant too, loads of them were your actual proper tat stalls, with genuine tat. rich! was made up by his three quid dressing gown when he was feeling a bit chilly on Sunday morning. One of the stalls was like a whole second hand shop complete with book sections, a box of old tankards and a load of dodgy old ornaments, and seemed to be permanently occupied by Hobo Jones having a bit of a snooze in a deckchair.
The scout shop was good as always, I'm tempted to find out contact details so I can put in requests for next year!
I liked the odd cakestall in the middle of site on sunday, what was that all about? Were they a scout satellite, as the scouts tried to flog me some home made biscuits too, or did someone decide to let everyone have a go and haul in the WI aswell? :D

We saw more comedy bands than anything else, it was that sort of weekend, with loads of hobo jones, who's afeared, the punk karaoke etc, but we did see loads of others, buzzcocks and alabama 3 were great, loads of other great stuff, and a few we had to back slowly away from... :D

Next years is going straight in the calendar, it's my new fave.

We saw you disappearing into a toilet and were going to wait for you outside, but decided that would be rude :D
...but funny :D (to be fair I should have got my arse up the van area)
Yeah man - didn't see you and Cap'n Rubbish at all! Or zenie....
We were about the site quite a bit, even in the rain ;)

I didnt have any with me, let me know if you find some decent one for travel :D
That might've been why I didn't recognise you ;)

Aw, we had a fabbo time and although rain stopped (a little) play for me on Saturday, Friday and Sunday were ace.

It was lovely to meet more Urbs this time.... lovely ladies, the lot :) Boys were ok too :p

A toast to Idaho and his missus who totally get the party started...

Yay, glad most of you had a groovy time

Was up there among the festival charttoppers for me last year, and I REALLY want to go back.

Next year's forecast : even better! ;) :p

But Stig in a dress???????

Refusing to believe it ... ;)

Yeah, they were great. Their bacon sarnies were ace hangover cures.

The bloke served me mine, saying 'Here's your bacon butty, but.' Alliteration. You don't often get that in a greasy spoon. :D

Endorse-it 2008 Highs and Lows

High Point
  • the weather
:)

Low Point
  • having to take all these filthy drugs with all our mates
:(

Or was it the other way round - arrhhh: confusion reigns. ;) :D

One thing is certain: my best Endorse-it yet!

Mango5 brought it along, and spent all weekend trying to get either me or wiskey into it.

By about pint five on Sunday I ended up going 'oh go on hand it over then' thereby gallantly saving wiskey from her fate.

It was ladies day, after all.

It was an enormous but slinky kinda stretchy thing, and went on nicely over the combats and t-shirt. :D

It only lasted an hour or so though, as it was like trying to walk round in a big sock, which is exactly what I thought wearing a dress would be like, and not really for me tbh.

It did! She looked fab - perfect for you Stig!

All the ladies looked gorgeous. Except for the very wrecked bloke during Who's Afear'd who was dancing near me with double denim on (bad news for a start) and his tea-stained frilly pants showing from under his jeans.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww - full of wrongness on every level.

(But kinda sweet too as he managed to get a woman to dance with him and he was so chuffed he even put down his tinny and bag.)

But Stig in a dress???????

She looked great, but when I tried to tell her this she made a face like she didn't want to hear it. So I joked she looked awful instead. Which would have worked OK if Rich! wasn't sure whether to take it seriously and needed to check the irony content! :D
One thing is certain: my best Endorse-it yet!

Yey! Did Crispy's brother do OK on the Sunday evening after we left?

He seemed fine and dandy on Monday morning - we went back to Salisbury with him.
Good to know :) - You all showed him a great time!

Not much to say that hasn't been said already, but I had a great time and will be back next year, when it will be a three day festival, not a two day one with a day's rain break in the middle!

I'm certainly feeling rough after the weekend's excesses but I had a fantastic time.

The rain made Saturday something of a slog, but one of the big differences with Glastonbury was that there was always room in the food and band tents so you could get in the dry.

I wish the festie started on a Thursday though. Three days wasn't enough!

Was a bit annoying that they took away a lot of the benches they had last year though. :(

That was a bit annoying - they'd all vanished from the disco tent and under the big circular tent in the middle too.

Hopefully next year they'll be back, but these are pretty minor gripes - overall, the event was very well organised with my only real complaint being the lack of loos in the camper van field.

But what loos there were easily won the Cleanest Festie Bogs At Any Festival award. They did a great job of keeping the toilets clean. Fresh loo roll on a Sunday is unheard of at most festivals!

Yep - I'd echo that - never seen such clean loos at a festival EVER. Did pixies empty them at some obscure o'clock? Cos I never had to witness the horror that is the poo-sucking lorries, either.

Thumbs up to everything, hurray. Except the botulism under my fingernails..... ;)

I think we ought to keep a bit more quiet about it, or people might get the idea that they can comfortably allow some slack on standard slippage... ;)
