I liked it.
Shame I did the same as last year and got over-enthusiastic on the first night and had to be put to bed.
Still, it sounds like I stayed up later than aqua, so that makes me feel much better!
Next year I might just have to give the cocktails a wide berth...
Saturday was ok, we were waterproof enough, and there are so many indoory-type places to shelter in, it was only really the main stage bits that were a bit damp. And we got to re-invent the wheel with our first ever experience of taking a stove to a festival, so sitting in the tent was a whole new experience: "OMG - tea! That's brilliant! Wow a fried egg! Fuckin genius!" etc etc.
Agree with everyone about the toilets, you could eat your dinner off those ones, and never once did they run out of bogroll. Food - there was some I think... the welsh stall was fab. Was that there last year? Just what you need after a tent-cooked veggie breakfast - a portion of bacon and lavabread.
The stalls were brilliant too, loads of them were your actual proper tat stalls, with genuine tat. rich! was made up by his three quid dressing gown when he was feeling a bit chilly on Sunday morning. One of the stalls was like a whole second hand shop complete with book sections, a box of old tankards and a load of dodgy old ornaments, and seemed to be permanently occupied by Hobo Jones having a bit of a snooze in a deckchair.
The scout shop was good as always, I'm tempted to find out contact details so I can put in requests for next year!
I liked the odd cakestall in the middle of site on sunday, what was that all about? Were they a scout satellite, as the scouts tried to flog me some home made biscuits too, or did someone decide to let everyone have a go and haul in the WI aswell?
We saw more comedy bands than anything else, it was that sort of weekend, with loads of hobo jones, who's afeared, the punk karaoke etc, but we did see loads of others, buzzcocks and alabama 3 were great, loads of other great stuff, and a few we had to back slowly away from...
Next years is going straight in the calendar, it's my new fave.
