What a brilliant weekend! I loved all of it. Even the weather was v amusing when Jan did her Ellen MacArthur impression with the gazebo/mast in the horizontal rain.

I don't think I've ever seen as few bands at a festival though!

me too! (your punk karaoke rocked btw!) :D I saw The Beat, Alabama3 (who I thought were absolutely phenomenal - that woman is chuffin' brilliant) and Dreadzone.....

I LOVED the beer tent next to the main stage - spent lots of time in there late at night dancing to the wonderful house music :D that I was v pleased to find - (nice to get away from that ska/cowpunk bollox ;) ) lots of smiley faces, made a fair few dancing friends in there....ace.

The thing that really made the festie for me was bimbling around, chatting to lots of lovely peeps, and hanging out in camp-van-urban getting pissed and crying with laughter. :D

top weekend - rounded off with Khans now. Nomnomnom. :)

OTOH I was never searched at the arena gate, on several occasions I wasn't even asked for my wristband. Perhaps I just look boring now :(

:D me too - I wasn't searched once! We're the boring gang.

I had a bloody lovely weekend, rain and mud didn't bother me too much, round the campsite was fine, just a bit more muscles needed to get on site and dance on Sunday night :D Didn't see loads of bands, but enjoyed what I did.
I saw Stig wearing a dress!
Did you? :hmm: :D

Only regret is that I completely missed some people (in a site that small :D): han, jan, moose (although I think I saw your other half), NVP and hord... next time eh :)

yeah - would've liked to chat to you more aqua! Gah. Next time yeah! (and let's do an urban walk soon).

Yeah man - didn't see you and Cap'n Rubbish at all! Or zenie....

And then - there were some other people I just couldn't get away from....;)

We saw you disappearing into a toilet and were going to wait for you outside, but decided that would be rude :D

That was brilliant.

That Ellen MacArthur moment was probably the best bit :D Up there with her off-the-cuff rant about the Swiss that time! Next best thing was Alabama 3 who were the best I've ever seen them. A lot of great new songs I'd never heard and they just properly fucking rocked it. Brilliant.

Elsewhere, the Beat were good and Jefe's Sunday night bit in the Wig-On Casino was fantastic. Really really enjoyed it, although by that stage I'd won the Cider Olympics so couldn't dance or even really communicate with people. The Skatalites were wonderful but ska really needs to be accompanied by sunshine, not 45 degree sheets of rain. :(

Sorry I missed the cocktail thing and Saturday was hard work but overall there were far more positives than negatives. It's a great festival, Endorse-it. Had a fucking blinder I did.

Sorry to miss loads of people and also sorry to anyone I kept awake with me snoring!

See you all there again next year, I hope. :)

The Vibronics were good, too.

And The Axe Factor was ace - any old Tom, Dick or Harry gets given a guitar irrespective of whether they can play it and have to jam with a metal covers band in stupid wigs. Inspired. :D

We left the site late afternoon and have only just got back... drove off site easily.

What a fucking blinder! :D

The rain didnt bother me much as I think I spent most of the night in the marquee wobbling around to the spiltters and inner terrestrials (after their hour sound check!)

The lack of bogs in the vehicles bit was an arse. I was chatting to a steward/farmer bloke and he told me that all the wheat was supposed to have been harvested by now but it wasn't ready, I guess that if it had then the vans would be where they were last year, which was a lot closer to the other toilets (and also would have meant you didnt have to treck all round to the one entrance.

The conditions of the toilets were great though... my mate disappeared last night some time and re-appeared early morning after having fell asleep in one! Went in when it was dark and greeted by bright daylight when he left! :D

There was more food this year too, and the crowd were as friendly as ever and sound security. The only time I really saw the security guards 'active' they were helping out casualties

Which ones did you have? My g/f wanted to get some but didn't have time before the festival so I may go buy her some.

I didnt have any with me, let me know if you find some decent one for travel :D

I didn't really mind the rain or mud tbh.

I didnt mind either except with thinking who the fuck is that every time I caught site of myself in the mirror in the loos.

Anyway there was plenty of entertainment at the tent if the rain got too much

well that was great, i had a grand time!

the rain was disappointing, but expected. i didn't really mind it...i was so trashed on sat daytime we could've been stuck in a snow storm for all i knew. Big Up PieEye for doing a brilliant job getting her van up the hill and getting us off the site in no time today.

i really liked the atmosphere and people, even the urbanites ;) there were no silly-type hippies but no pretentious aren't we wacky festie wankers either. i felt chilled out, safe and happy to mooch about with firky or Jen when stuff wasn't on. LilJen and i had good times people watching and chatting to randoms - the rockabilly boys were so sweet. especially in dresses on Sunday. in fact, there were far more men in dresses on Sunday, than women. i saw a brilliant man of about 80 tottering around in a right fancy number. :D

i enjoyed the bands too and thought the soundsystem on the main stage was tops (except when me and firky were watching the Vibronics - we wanted the bass much much LOUDER!) Friday night was the best for me, crawling back to the tent god knows what time after dancing all night at Jefe and Ouchmonkey's do (they did a 6 hour stint in there each night!) that tent was rocking - on Friday it was definitely the busiest happiest danciest tent on the site.

Prongorn i loved, the Beat were great (had a lil chat with Ranking Roger too, that he instigated...er...about his kids! ) Alabama 3 put on a great show, (agreed han, that woman was amazing, gorgeous and had a wonderful voice) i reckon my favourite set were the Vibronics though. but they weren't on for long enough, i'm sure firky will agree.

erm....who else did i see? i definitely saw more bands...i'm getting a bit spaced now, dozed off when i got in and am just about to have a long hot bath... :)

despite being anxious beforehand about it being one big urban75 fest, it really wasn't like that. i met new urbanites too, but can't start naming people atm cos i know how messy i am, and i'll forget someone - but those i spent time with, cheers!

Anyway there was plenty of entertainment at the tent if the rain got too much

oh yes indeed - if you do mean tent not tents....:D us all sitting mashed and having a laugh with tanky and dodge in the tent was one of my highlights of the weekend.

right. time for a glass of wine, a spliff and a bath, with candles and nice smelling stuff

got back about 3pm (just drove off the site, not really wet - just soft) but the drive home was a mission - I just hadn't realised how much i need sleep these days to compensate for a late night on the razzamatazz, and my blood sugar -> humour levels never really recovered from the traumatic, if embarrasing start to our journey (of which, more later - when i have the energy)...

anyway, sometimes having fun was harder work than it ought to be, but that was about me and my sleep deprivation, rotten indigestion, bad back and knees (god i'm soooooo old!) and not really about the weather.

i thought the festival itself was ace, and have to also laud the toilet situation. Apart from the shameful situ in the van field, the organisers clearly had been generous with the ratio of loos to ticket holders, and committed some manpower to keeping them at a far better level of clean.liness than you could hope with that amount of mud.

i also loved the pear cider - sad supplies didn't hold.

lovely to meet new peeps. felix - thought i'd see more of you, honey! we barely spoke!
pavlik and eva (memories are hazy), idaho - who may've been the most welcome urbanite sightingf of my life - subversplat, the lovely, lovely moose and her mister, nvp - finally, after asking the wrong people all weekend if they knew him, and the gorgeous, glamorous madamv. plus the two or three people i've overlooked and will be traumatised to discover i've done so...:D

sorry for blethering at folk, for being irritatingly paranoid about the blethering, for foisting glowstics on all and sundry, and for traumatising some of those of a nervous dispositon (and crispy) with my frock on saturday.:D:D:oops:

Excellent festie - definately one of my favourites of all time despite the weather! Drank loads of lovely scrumpy and saw some great bands, Tofu Love Frogs and Alabama 3 were amazing. Punk karoke was a brilliant idea - me and my mate were going to get up and do one but I lost my nerve as there were so many people watching.
I had a minor panic when I missed my stewarding shift 'cos I looked at the wrong time but it was all sorted and I got to do another one. Met some really nice people - not sure if I met any urbanites but must have done at some point. I'm the girl with dreads that worked on the main gate on friday afternoon.
Still slightly spangled from sundays exploits. I'm really surprised I managed to stay vertical yesterday and didn't go mud diving. I nearly went flying a good few times on that wooden dance floor in the wig on casino yesterday night.
All really good, but the main camping field was a bit small I thought, could have done with being twice that size. Definately doing it again next year if I'm not on my travels by then! :D
