You can broadcast Thomas The Tank Engine on all Egyptian stations non-stop if you control all Egyptian stations - if there's no regular press call it's just a stand-up statement that might have been recorded hours ago.
The TV stations are surrounded, he hasn't just stepped into a studio and announced that live to the world. Nobody's buying this shit.

Depends how brainwashed they have been. I knew people in East Germany who where in the army when the Wall came down and for weeks beforehand they had been shut away and fed propaganda about defending the country against western invasion. Luckily, they weren't called on to attack their own. I think this spread of revolution across the arab world has come too quickly for anything similar to have happened in Egypt, but I don't really know what kind of stuff the army are being primed with there.
