  • Human floating in a water tank to simulate zero g for 24 hours. (perhaps a bit extreme, current method is bed rest)
  • Simulate a human returning in a spacecraft, drop a human a short distance with shock absorbing system. See what g the human experiences.
  • Expose humans to vibration experiments, which perhaps useful for rocket take off.
Not sure when this was filmed, one source suggests 1947 but project mercury started in 1958.
