So many particulars. So many questions.
much like the earlier thing you posted from that tech CEO about rural hickshire getting fibre broadband and stop being racist. There must be scales inbetween somewhere, because all I am seeing is an expresion of a profound disconnect between classes here, not that they don't care or didn't care but that they never knew, didn't care to know about a US blue and lower white collar class being systemically hollowed out, and yes- left behind. I recall post 2008 the spectre of hoovervilles being raised but not much came of it to my attention- because people are living out of cars and living in abandoned portions of cities I presume (read some vox pops with people doing two jobs and living out of a knackered motor etc.)I think that you are right, and in a way that makes it even worse.
I can't claim to know america outside of its pop culture and music, and in a limited way some of its people. But there it is, my thoughts.
