Donald Trump, the road that might not lead to the White House!

I dunno man, I just don't think Bernie would have won, Obamacare was seen as evil because it was "socialist medicine" or as the rest of the civilised world calls it "healthcare" , I think Trump's base would have been as hostile to Bernie.

Lets not forget the average mean income that voted for Trump was above average wealthy, those people hate the concept of socialism (mainly because I suspect they don't know what it means).

I do thing that Biden would have wiped the floor with Trump, but thats neither here nor there, spending so much time ranting about how "bernie would have won this" is an exercise in futility.

Obamacare was shit . Had it been anyway decent people would have defended it. Trump himself was talking about the Scottish NHs and universal healthcare .

Sanders was the only candidate in the running that Trump didn't excoriate. He often expressed sympathy for him, repeatedly stressed that he agreed with him on a lot of stuff. Particularly trade . The worst he called him was " crazy Bernie " ..which coming from trump was barely an insult at all . He even pointed out a few times he'd never " went after him " .

Donald Trump appeals to 'crazy Bernie' backers while batting away Russia ties

You're pulling this stuff out of your arse. Like most of your posts .

President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team has announced that former Ohio secretary of state Ken Blackwell will be in charge of handling domestic policy issues in relation to the upcoming Trump administration’s legislative and executive priorities in its first hundred days

Blackwell, who currently works as a senior fellow at the Family Research Council, a Christian lobbying organization that lobbies lawmakers against LGBT rights, abortion and pornography, first gained national attention in 2006, when he was running to serve as Ohio’s governor.

In an interview at the time, Blackwell declared that homosexuality was a “lifestyle” that “can be changed.
Donald Trump at the White House: Obama reports 'excellent conversation' – live

We need a thread gloating at anyone who is upset by the racist rapist getting to the White House, its the Urban 75 way.

We keep hearing about the 'white working class'. Not really sure of US demographics but is there some sort of argument that no black/Hispanic working class vote for Trump or conversely, voted for Clinton.
I am just having trouble with this suggestion of some sort of monolithic white working class which dominates all the rustbelt/industrial heartland...
I post on a couple of US gardening sites which are almost overwhelmingly middle class...and am stupefied by the casual reference to trailer trash, 'Billy-Bobs' and 'hillbillies' by posters who would rear up in huge indignation at any other racial epithet.

What's Trump's proposal? Repeal & replace with "something really great", "something much cheaper", "a private sector solution".....IOW like all Repubs, with nothing.

If she didn't want Trump then she should not have backed a loser then should she. Fucking insufferable. Can these people not shut up.

The difference is, for you and others, the election is an intellectual talking point. For Americans, it's the shape of their future.

Even here in Canada, there are effects. There are Americans within my extended family; and as a result of this election, there are people who will no longer speak to one another.

What has happened is more than just an intellectual exercise.

DNC Staffer Screams At Donna Brazile For Helping Elect Donald Trump | The Huffington Post

Donna Brazile, the interim leader of the Democratic National Committee, was giving what one attendee described as “a rip-roaring speech” to about 150 employees, about the need to have hope for wins going forward, when a staffer identified only as Zach stood up with a question.

“Why should we trust you as chair to lead us through this?” he asked, according to two people in the room. “You backed a flawed candidate, and your friend [former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz] plotted through this to support your own gain and yourself.”

Some DNC staffers started to boo and some told him to sit down. Brazile began to answer, but Zach had more to say.

“You are part of the problem,” he continued, blaming Brazile for clearing the path for Trump’s victory by siding with Clinton early on. “You and your friends will die of old age and I’m going to die from climate change. You and your friends let this happen, which is going to cut 40 years off my life expectancy.”

Somehow I think that millionaire Schumer has more resources to insulate herself from the effects of accelerated climate change than I do.

She's already said she'd move to Spain if Trump won, despite all those racist things she has said about Hispanics

You seem surprised that emotions are running high in the US.

To repeat: what has happened is more to them than an intellectual exercise.

Weird thing to say to the person who has been livid for a very long time about the fact that Clinton's candidacy made Trump's (or someone like Trump later on) victory more likely.

Try as you might to reduce what's happened to a drawing-room debate about the sins of Hillary Clinton, the fact remains that the white majority in the United States hearkened to Trump's call for a return to the Good Old Days of White America - and they made him their President.

The importance of what's happened is the revelation of deep problems in American society; not a revelation that a run of the mill political hack came to the campaign with baggage.

Is it possible for a Democratic presidential candidate to fail their constituency rather than be failed by that constituency?

Amy Schumer's comments:

What an arse. Fucking drama queen .

She's already said she'd move to Spain if Trump won, despite all those racist things she has said about Hispanics

Moving to Spain, not mexico . Despite it being easier to do and having stricter gun laws than the US .

That Miley Cyrus had a meltdown too . Shell be threatening to wear clothes as a protest .

Just seen this on FB:
WTF is it supposed to mean?
It refers to the (I believe proved) theory that a corrupted DNC fixed the contest between Clinton and Sanders, the suggestion is that Bernie Sanders would have easily beaten Trump.

I think the picture is of Sanders + adoring crowd.

I am guessing that the meme creator thinks that vote hacking took place in addition to the other methods of bias.

But the deeper problem is as much or more the half of the electorate that didn't bother as well as the less than a third that voted for the racist plutocrat. Clinton is part of that problem.

Jesus Christ, they had an election which they lost in large part due to their own failings. Hardly an historically unique event.

Is the endless weeping and wailing that goes on by those who don't get their way a new phenomenon, or was it always there and is now simply magnified by the internet?
