If you want to denigrate a female person who you personally hate then there's a huge compendium of nasty words for 'woman' available to pick from. If there were equivalent words for a man they'd probably have been used about Trump every day but there aren't.
When CR uses those gendered insults instead of just explaining what it is about Clinton 's ideas and actions that he hates, he does weaken his position and look like a woman hating twit though so would be wise to stop even if just to prevent other thread ending up being all about him.

I don't know CR and I haven't been here as long as the rest of you. I don't understand the groundsheets reference even.
I was trying to say something that was not about CR, was about the widespread almost subconscious loathing our culture and language has evolved to attack powerful women in general, which we have no language for when its men. Have you ever heard of a bossy man even?
In the tiny world of this website this was interpreted just as me sticking up for CR cos I secretly like him or agree with him or something, so I regret having posted it as that was not my intention at all.

The groundsheet reference was brought up on the Cologne thread, you know that thread where you repeatedly said that leftists (including posters on this board) were apologists for the sexual assault on women.

They're streets ahead of British television, in terms of contemporary satire. Don't get me wrong; the history of British satire (TV) is admirable but TWTWIW & Spitting Image are long gone. HIGNFY is mildly amusing, at most. Charlie Brooker is stronger but doesn't get that kind of exposure.

Yeah, I remember that thread. Not going to pick over the entrails of it looking for a sordid old groundsheet though.
My one regret about that whole thread was using the silly words 'the left', because that was sloppy and lazy at best. I should have tried to explain what I meant a lot a more carefully, but anyway, seems I'll be paying for that for the rest of my urbanite life, nothing I can do about it now. I'm a left-hater, a cover-up merchant, etc.:facepalm:
 
I don't think that US TV really has anything in terms of satire. The writing is usually better but the perspective always lets it down. YouTube, maybe.

You'll falsely smeared people as apologists for sexual assault but when you're presented with direct evidence of the sexism of one poster you simply turn your head away. Pathetic, keep defending your mate.

Is it reasonable to say that the US TV media is markedly more servile and submissive than what we have access to here, and that this is fuel for the Trumpish anti-MSM movement?

Oh god no, UK TV is fucking awful. That doesn't mean that US TV is good though. In fact both the media setup and political setup are actually very different anyway.

No I haven't I've accused you (and I stand by that accusation) of willing overlooking CRs sexism because it suits you and being utterly mendacious (as evidenced by the lie in the post above).

You are part of the reason why CR gets away with his shit on here.

I was furious about the way in which some people, here and elsewhere, reacted to the events of that night, hundreds of women reporting to the police that they'd been sexually assaulted by a crowd of anonymous men. Since then, there have been no convictions at all, for any of the hundreds of sexual assaults, not a single one. I hope it's ok by you to still be cross about that. But don't forget I'm also an apologist for CR's use of language so I'm actually a closet woman-hater too, utterly mendacious to the core.
