Just when I thought things couldn't get any uglier:

The GOP office in Hillsborough was torched and vandals also spray-painted “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else” with a swastika on a wall nearby overnight, local authorities said Sunday.

The flammable substance was ignited inside the building, burning some furniture and the inside of the building before causing damage to the building’s exterior. The substance encased in a bottle was thrown through one of the windows. Damage estimates are still unavailable but no one was injured in the attack.

Glad no one was hurt. Feel sorry for the balloon shop lady. If the cops handled the graffitti anything like our cops, anyway. The cops wander by, take a couple of photos, and inform you that you have 72 hrs of clean it off or they'll give you a ticket.

No one should think the Democrats have been left out, several of their offices were vandalized a couple months ago.

I'm not "hanging" anything on someone - merely offering some ideas as to why someone chose to summarise his attitude in that way.

The "evident misogyny", although it rides in on the back of his clear hatred of Clinton, is a different matter altogether. His readiness to use misogynistic terms (and images) to attack her speaks to that.

Somewhat ironically, he has chosen to interpret my objection to his misogynistic crap as signalling support for Clinton, about which he could only be slightly more wrong than he is. So, from what I can tell, he can't actually distinguish his hatred for Clinton-the-presidential-candidate from his hatred for Clinton-the-woman. I'm happy to hang that on him.

Marlee Matlin, an actor who is deaf, said she was “deeply” upset by reports that Donald Trump repeatedly called her “retarded” when she appeared on the Celebrity Apprentice.

“The term is abhorrent and should never be used. The fact that we are talking about this during a very important moment in American history has upset me deeply,” Matlin said in a statement on Friday.

Three staffers on the reality TV show, who requested anonymity due to non-disclosure agreements, told the Daily Beast that Trump often treated Matlin with disrespect and called her “retarded,” both behind her back and in front of her. A former Apprentice contestant also told People that Trump made sexual comments to Matlin and other women on the show.

“I am Deaf. There are millions of Deaf and hard of hearing people like me, in the United States and around the world who face discrimination and misunderstanding like this on a daily basis. It is unacceptable,” said Matlin, who has indicated her support for Hillary Clinton throughout the campaign.

“As a person who is Deaf, as a woman, as a mom, as a wife, as an actor, I have a voice. And I’m using that voice to make myself heard… and vote.”

Perhaps next they can raise some money for those poor benighted souls in ISIS who I hear may be suffering from extensive property damage in Mosul at the moment.
 
For all we know, they do that as well. And perhaps they thought this needed urgent attention, being close to home and the election campaign being so vicious.
